Antibodies to Herpes Simplex Virus in Human Gingival Fluid
Journal of Periodontology, 1981Antibodies to herpes simplex virus were found by immunofluorescent techniques in the gingival fluid of 84.0% of the persons tested. A mixture of IgG and IgA antibodies was demonstrated in 52.3% of the specimens while in 47.7% only IgG antibodies were found.

1995
A new lymphotropic human herpes virus was isolated in peripheral blood mononuclear cells in patients with lymphoproliferative disorders in 1986 and soon afterwards from peripheral blood of immunosuppressed patients. The isolates were called HHV6. A similar but antigenically different virus was later isolated from the blood of a healthy individual and ...

A human chromosomal determinant for susceptibility to herpes simplex virus
Nature, 1976THE susceptibility of mammalian cells to virus infection has been studied in many virus–host systems. In certain instances1–6, the comparison of cells which do not permit productive infection with those that do has made it possible to identify the host factors which allow entry of the virus and support its subsequent growth.

Specific Herpes Simplex Virus Antigen in Human Gingiva
Journal of Periodontology, 1983Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV‐1) specific antigens were found to be present in the sulcular epithelial cells of patients that were undergoing periodontal treatment. Four out of 14 cases were positive to specific HSV‐1 antigen, as demonstrated by the indirect immunofluorescent assay. No nuclear staining was seen in any epithelial cells.

[Human herpes virus and malignancies].
Rinsho byori. The Japanese journal of clinical pathology, 2001Two type of human herpes viruses, type 4(Epstein Barr virus, EBV) and type 8(HHV8) are known to cause malignancies. Among those, EBV is the very most popular human oncovirus. It can cause malignant lymphomas of various subtypes including Burkitt's lymphoma, opportunistic lymphomas, pyothorax-associated lymphoma, nasal T/NK cell lymphoma, Hodgkin's ...

Replication of Herpes Simplex Virus and Cytomegalovirus in Human Leukocytes
The Journal of Immunology, 1978Abstract Human peripheral blood leukocytes, lymphocyte subpopulations, and hemic cell lines were examined for their ability to support HSV and CMV replication. Mitogen-stimulated mononuclear leukocytes, B lymphocytes, and T lymphocytes supported the replication of HSV to high titers over 3 to 5 days of infection.

Effect of human semen on herpes-simplex virus-2
Fertility and Sterility, 1989This study was designed to evaluate the suggestion of inhibition of infectivity of HSV-2 by seminal fluid by examining relationships between HSV-2 and components of human semen. Viral infectivity was quantitated by TCID50 measurements of CPE in comparing viral inoculated aliquots of whole semen, seminal fluid, and control (EMEM) medium during ...
