Human Herpesvirus 6 and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
The cause of chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is still enigmatic. Using indirect immunofluorescence testing for measuring antibody against human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6), this study investigated the association of CFS with infection by HHV-6.

Atypical manifestation of human herpes virus-6 encephalitis with extra-limbic lesions: a case report [PDF]
Human herpesvirus-6 (HHV-6) encephalitis represents a serious opportunistic infection in immunocompromised patients that is associated with substantial mortality and long-term neurological sequelae. The disease most often involves the limbic system, with

Human Herpesvirus 6 and Neuroinflammation [PDF]
Human herpesvirus (HHV-) 6A and HHV-6B are two distinctβ-herpesviruses which have been associated with various neurological diseases, including encephalitis, meningitis, epilepsy, and multiple sclerosis. Although the reactivation of both viruses is recognized as the cause of some neurological complications in conditions of immunosuppression, their ...

Nano‐ and Micro‐Sized Solid Materials Used as Antiviral Agents
Due to the rise of viral infections in humans and possible viral outbreaks, the use of nano‐ or micro‐sized materials as antiviral agents is rapidly increasing. This review explores their antiviral properties against RNA and DNA viruses, either as a prevention or a treatment tool, by delving into their mechanisms of action and how to properly assess ...

HHVs AND LYMPHOPROLIFERATIVE DISORDERS
Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a γ herpesvirus well recognized to be involved in the development of human B (Hodgkin and non Hodgkin lymphomas) and NK/T cell lymphomas, either in the general population or in the immunosuppressed individuals.

HHV-6 Infection in a 19-Year-Old Liver Transplant Recipient – Much More Than Roseola!
Human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) infections, most commonly occurring during childhood, are frequently mild and self-limited. However, immunosuppression due to transplantation may cause reactivation of HHV-6 with manifestations ranging from fever and skin ...

Antibody Cross-Reactivity between Porcine Cytomegalovirus (PCMV) and Human Herpesvirus-6 (HHV-6)
Porcine cytomegalovirus (PCMV) infection is widely prevalent among pigs, and PCMV is one of the viruses which may be transmitted during xenotransplantation using pig cells, tissues, or organs. While human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) is a major risk factor for

Epstein‐Barr Virus Expressed Long Non‐Coding RNA (lncBARTs) Regulate EBV Latent Genome Replication
EBV produces abundant level of lncBARTs, which are essential for maintaining viral genome replication in EBV‐associated cancers. LncBARTs interact with a complex comprising BRD4, CTCF and viral protein EBNA1 at EBV oriP region. This interaction tethers oriP to host chromosomes, facilitating EBV episome replication.
