The microbiome-gut-brain-axis plays a critical role in mental health. However, research linking the microbiome to brain function is limited, particularly during development, when tremendous plasticity occurs and many mental health issues, like depression

自從西元2000 年起, 經濟合作暨發展組織(Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, OECD)開始舉辦「國際學生評量計畫」(Programme for International Student Assessment, PISA),芬蘭學生的成績便引起全球關注,大 家都想知道:這個人口不到臺灣四分之一的「小國」,為什麼可以獲得「世界第一」?曾志朗看見的是「閱讀文化的深度」,形成芬蘭人既遵傳統又重創新的教育風格 ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Impacts of Climate Change on indirect human exposure to pathogens and chemicals from agriculture [PDF]
Objective: Climate change is likely to affect the nature of pathogens and chemicals in the environment and their fate and transport. Future risks of pathogens and chemicals could therefore be very different from those of today.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Self-processes, learning, and enabling human potential
Self-processes drive engagement in learning and underpin human potential. These self-processes include self-concept, self-regulation, self-determination, self-efficacy, well-being, resilience, and motivation. These self-processes are dynamic and interact.

Mental health is more than the absence of mental illnesses. However, while we acknowledge the importance of positive mental health, there is a lack of comprehensive understanding about positive mental health in adolescents and how it protects against ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.
