PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Rapid-response humidity sensors based on ultra-thin films stacked with single-layer graphene oxide

open access: yesResults in Chemistry
Monitoring and control of humidity is important for industry, agriculture and human activities. Currently, it is achallengeto develop highly sensitive humidity sensors with both the response time and recovery time less than 1 s.Therefore, it isdifficult ...

Uniformly Porous Nanocrystalline CaMgFe1.33Ti3O12 Ceramic Derived Electro-Ceramic Nanocomposite for Impedance Type Humidity Sensor

open access: yesSensors, 2016
Since humidity sensors have been widely used in many sectors, a suitable humidity sensing material with improved sensitivity, faster response and recovery times, better stability and low hysteresis is necessary to be developed.

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Balloon-Shaped Optical Fiber Humidity Sensor Based on PVA Coating for Respiratory Monitoring

open access: yesPhotonics
A polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)-coated optical fiber humidity sensor for respiratory monitoring is proposed. The humidity sensor forms a fiber Mach–Zehnder interferometer (MZI) by bending the single-mode fiber (SMF) coated with PVA. The refractive index of PVA

Development of a Waterproof Crack-Based Stretchable Strain Sensor Based on PDMS Shielding

open access: yesSensors, 2018
This paper details the design of a poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS)-shielded waterproof crack-based stretchable strain sensor, in which the electrical characteristics and sensing performance are not influenced by changes in humidity.

Sensitive Relative Humidity Monitoring Sensor Based on Microwave Active Resonator With PEDOT:PSS

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In this paper, a relative humidity monitoring sensor based on an active resonator with PEDOT:PSS is studied in the microwave regime. The proposed active resonator is patterned on a printed circuit board and excited by electromagnetic field coupling.

Humidity Sensor - A Review of Nanostructured Zinc Oxide (ZnO)-Based Humidity Sensor [PDF]

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Research, 2015
We have reviewed humidity sensors based on the Zinc oxide (ZnO) humidity sensor. There are only a few papers reviewing on the ZnO humidity sensor. The characteristics, structures, advantages, and fabrication methods of ZnO have been studied to understand the suitability of the ZnO to be applied at different kind of condition such as for extreme ...

Epigenetic silencing of the liver‐specific lncRNA LUNAR promotes liver cancer progression via NOTCH activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LUNAR is a liver‐specific long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) that is highly expressed in normal liver but becomes epigenetically silenced in hepatocellular carcinoma through promoter hypermethylation. Loss of LUNAR is associated with NOTCH activation, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and metastasis, whereas restoring LUNAR restrains metastatic progression ...
