Using Chemometrics for Unraveling Complex Property Activity Relationships in Zeolite Catalyzed Sugar Conversion

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 2, 28 January 2026.
ABSTRACT The catalytic conversion of biomass‐derived sugars to 5‐hydroxymethylfurfural (5‐HMF) over zeolites is challenging due to internal mass transfer limitations arising from their microporous framework. To overcome this chronic issue, we prepared a set of micro‐mesoporous zeolites (22 samples), whose properties were fully characterized in our ...

Humic fractions as support for the classification of high-mountain Organossolos in the southeast of Brazil [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Ciência do Solo
Brazilian Soil Classification System (SiBCS) adopts a hierarchical approach to classify soils using specific diagnostic attributes. Organossolos (Histosols) class is differentiated according to its genesis, especially because the parent material is ...

Insights into Electro‐Oxidative Dehydrogenation of Aldehydes on Copper Foam: The Role of Electrode Design, Side Reactions, and Substrate Properties

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 13, Issue 1, January 2026.
This study focuses on understanding the electro‐oxidative dehydrogenation (EOD) of aldehydes on copper foam electrodes. It examines how electrode morphology, substrate type and concentration, and electrolyte composition influence reaction pathways, efficiency, and side reactions, providing insights to guide catalyst design and optimize low‐potential ...

DOC trail: soil organic matter quality and soil aggregate stability in organic and conventional soils [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Conclusion Soil organic matter quality is affected by the agricultural systems of the DOC trial. System effects on the chemical composition, however, were smaller than those on the living organisms in soil and their functions.

Enhancing Cropping System Productivity and Soil Properties Through Cotton/Peanut Intercropping With Optimized Row Configurations

open access: yesFood and Energy Security, Volume 15, Issue 1, January/February 2026.
Compared to monoculture, the cotton‐peanut intercropping system outperforms in improving the SQI (soil quality index) and crop productivity through enhanced soil physical, chemical, and biological properties. The C4P6 configuration (4 rows of cotton intercropped with 6 rows of peanuts) demonstrates the best performance.

Systematic Determination of Structure‐Activity‐Selectivity Correlations for the Catalytic Oxidation of Glucose to Acetic Acid Depending on the Structure Type of the Used Polyoxometalate Catalyst

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 31, Issue 72, December 23, 2025.
Herein, we investigate in detail the influence of different polyoxometalate structure types on the reaction pathways and kinetics for the selective catalytic oxidation of glucose to acetic acid. Abstract The BioValCat (Enhanced Biomass Valorization by Engineering of Polyoxometalate Catalysts) project aims for developing homogeneously catalyzed ...
