Twining of the Hop (Humulus lupulus L.)
Nature, 1958CASUAL observations made by me on the twining of the shoots of the hop suggested that in the first phase of growth (in which the stem extends rapidly and the laterals remain suppressed) the angle made by the gyres of the helix with the horizontal varied with the diameter of the support.
