The Created Excellent Thermal, Mechanical and Fluorescent Properties by Doping Eu3+-Complex-Anchored Carbon Nanotubes in Polycyanate Resins

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2022
In the blending process of the composites, the clustering of MWCNTs under high concentration leads to poor dispersion and difficult complexing with luminescent elements.

Hybridization of Institutions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Modal logics are successfully used as specification logics for reactive systems. However, they are not expressive enough to refer to individual states and reason about the local behaviour of such systems. This limitation is overcome in hybrid logics which introduce special symbols for naming states in models.

Peripheral blood proteome biomarkers distinguish immunosuppressive features of cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Immune status significantly influences cancer progression. This study used plasma proteomics to analyze benign 67NR and malignant 4T1 breast tumor models at early and late tumor stages. Immune‐related proteins–osteopontin (Spp1), lactotransferrin (Ltf), calreticulin (Calr) and peroxiredoxin 2 (Prdx2)–were associated with systemic myeloid‐derived ...

Targeting the MDM2‐MDM4 interaction interface reveals an otherwise therapeutically active wild‐type p53 in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.

Hybrid Codes

open access: yes, 2019
A hybrid code can simultaneously encode classical and quantum information into quantum digits such that the information is protected against errors when transmitted through a quantum channel. It is shown that a hybrid code has the remarkable feature that

High efficiency polymer solar cells sensitized by red-emitting ZnCuInS nanoplatelets

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2022
We synthesized the two-dimensional Zn–Cu–In–S (ZCIS) semiconductor nanoplatelets and then modified their surface with 4-bromobenzenediazonium tetrafluoroborate. The surface modified ZCIS nanoplatelets were combined with the conventional photovoltaic hole

The Cds.71 on TMS5 May Act as a Mutation Hotspot to Originate a TGMS Trait in Indica Rice Cultivars

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2020
The gene tms5, which controls thermo-sensitive genic male sterility (TGMS), has been widely used in two-line hybrid rice breeding in China. The tms5 lines have two sources, namely, AnnongS-1 (AnS) and Zhu1S (ZhS) and, interestingly, are commonly subject ...

Comparing self‐reported race and genetic ancestry for identifying potential differentially methylated sites in endometrial cancer: insights from African ancestry proportions using machine learning models

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Integrating ancestry, differential methylation analysis, and machine learning, we identified robust epigenetic signature genes (ESGs) and Core‐ESGs in Black and White women with endometrial cancer. Core‐ESGs (namely APOBEC1 and PLEKHG5) methylation levels were significantly associated with survival, with tumors from high African ancestry (THA) showing ...

Hybrid nanophotonics [PDF]

open access: yesUspekhi Fizicheskih Nauk, 2017
Abstract Advances in the field of plasmonics, i.e., nano-photonics exploiting the optical properties of metal nanostructures, paved the way for the development of ultrasensitive devices, including biological and various other sensors whose operation is based on the nanoscale localization of the electromagnetic field.

Determination of ADP/ATP translocase isoform ratios in malignancy and cellular senescence

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The individual functions of three isoforms exchanging ADP and ATP (ADP/ATP translocases; ANTs) on the mitochondrial membrane remain unclear. We developed a method for quantitatively differentiating highly similar human ANT1, ANT2, and ANT3 using parallel reaction monitoring. This method allowed us to assess changes in translocase levels during cellular
