Hybrid Hadronization

open access: yes, 2019
We discuss Hybrid Hadronization, a hadronization model which interpolates between string fragmentation in dilute parton systems and quark recombination in dense parton systems.

Exploring the role of cyclin D1 in the pathogenesis of multiple myeloma beyond cell cycle regulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cyclin D1 overexpression altered the cell adhesion pathway, while cyclin D2 upregulation had less impact on pathway enrichment analysis. Multiple myeloma (MM) patients with cyclin D1 overexpression showed reduced CD56 expression and increased circulating tumor cells (CTC) levels, suggesting that cyclin D1 may contribute to MM cell dissemination ...

Decrypting cancer's spatial code: from single cells to tissue niches

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Spatial transcriptomics maps gene activity across tissues, offering powerful insights into how cancer cells are organised, switch states and interact with their surroundings. This review outlines emerging computational, artificial intelligence (AI) and geospatial approaches to define cell states, uncover tumour niches and integrate spatial data with ...

Thermal Sight: A Position‐Sensitive Detector for a Pinpoint Heat Spot

open access: yesSmall Science
Precise positioning is a never‐ending goal in both fundamental science and technology. Recent decades of advancements in high‐precision position detection have predominantly relied on photoelectric effects for light detection in semiconductors. Herein, a

Weak Singular Hybrid Automata

open access: yes, 2014
The framework of Hybrid automata, introduced by Alur, Courcourbetis, Henzinger, and Ho, provides a formal modeling and analysis environment to analyze the interaction between the discrete and the continuous parts of cyber-physical systems.

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Multi‐omic profiling of squamous cell lung cancer identifies metabolites and related genes associated with squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using multi‐omic characterization, we aimed to identify key regulators specific to squamous cell lung carcinoma (SqCC). SqCC‐specific differentially expressed genes were integrated with metabolics data. High expression of the creatine transporter SLC6A8, along with elevated creatine levels, appeared to be a distinct metabolic feature of SqCC.
