Development and Analysis of a New Joining Method for Polymer-Metal Hybrid Structures [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Thermoplastic Composite Materials, 2010
The influence of innovative technologies and green policies in manufacturing has created new design needs. Reinforced thermoplastics and metals are widely used as engineering materials for weight reduction, usually assembled by joining. This article presents the principles of a new injection clinching joining (ICJ) process for polymer—metal hybrid ...

Comparing self‐reported race and genetic ancestry for identifying potential differentially methylated sites in endometrial cancer: insights from African ancestry proportions using machine learning models

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Integrating ancestry, differential methylation analysis, and machine learning, we identified robust epigenetic signature genes (ESGs) and Core‐ESGs in Black and White women with endometrial cancer. Core‐ESGs (namely APOBEC1 and PLEKHG5) methylation levels were significantly associated with survival, with tumors from high African ancestry (THA) showing ...

Interplay of integrins and selectins in metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here we review the role of integrins and their interplay with selectins in metastasis. The efficacy of integrin‐targeted therapies may be reduced in tumors where metastasis relies heavily on selectins. In certain tumors, integrins and selectins exhibit a synergistic interaction during intraperitoneal dissemination.

Development and application of an in-house reverse hybridization method for Chlamydia trachomatis genotyping [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Microbiology, 2012
To develop and evaluate an in-house reverse hybridization technique for Chlamydia trachomatis genotype identification. The evaluation of the developed and optimized reverse hybridization method on reference strains showed the specific detection of all genotypes. This technique showed its ability to type one inclusion-forming unit of C.

Hybrid atomistic-continuum methods for multiscale hydrodynamics [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2003
We discuss hybrid atomistic-continuum methods for multiscale hydrodynamic applications. Both dense fluid and dilute gas formulations are considered. The choice of coupling method and its relation to the fluid physics is discussed. The differences in hybrid methods resulting from underlying compressible and incompressible continuum formulations as well ...

Determination of ADP/ATP translocase isoform ratios in malignancy and cellular senescence

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The individual functions of three isoforms exchanging ADP and ATP (ADP/ATP translocases; ANTs) on the mitochondrial membrane remain unclear. We developed a method for quantitatively differentiating highly similar human ANT1, ANT2, and ANT3 using parallel reaction monitoring. This method allowed us to assess changes in translocase levels during cellular

Comprehensive omics‐based classification system in adult patients with B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The COMBAT classification system, developed through multi‐omics integration, stratifies adult patients with B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia(B‐ALL) into three molecular subtypes with distinct surface antigen patterns, immune landscape, methylation patterns, biological pathways and prognosis.
