Fractional-order Sliding Mode Control of Hybrid Drive Wind Turbine for Improving Low-voltage Ride-through Capacity

open access: yesJournal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy, 2023
A hybrid drive wind turbine equipped with a speed regulating differential mechanism can generate electricity at the grid frequency by an electrically excited synchronous generator without requiring fully or partially rated converters.

Optimal PID Controllers for AVR System Considering Excitation Voltage Limitations Using Hybrid Equilibrium Optimizer

open access: yesMachines, 2021
Automatic voltage regulator (AVR) represents the basic voltage regulator loop in power systems. The central part of this loop is the regulator, which has parameters that define the speed of the voltage regulation, quality of responses, and system ...

Dynamic Performance of a Hybrid Synchronous Machine with Ultra-High XD/XQ Ratio

open access: yesABUAD Journal of Engineering Research and Development, 2023
This paper presents a hybrid synchronous machine with ultra-high XD/XQ ratio. A conventional synchronous machine has two components of output power; the excitation and the reluctance component.

Modeling and Control of a 7-phase Claw-pole Starter-alternator for a Micro-hybrid Automotive Application [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This paper deals with the modeling and the control of a new high power 12V Integrated Starter Alternator (ISA). This system is used to bring micro-hybrid functions to standard Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles.

Electromagnetic characteristic of a novel hybrid excitation generator for vehicles based on the field-and-circuit method

open access: yesFrontiers in Mechanical Engineering
IntroductionThe electro-magnetic generator commonly used in automobiles generally has high excitation loss leading to low efficiency. And it cannot effectively provide power for the vehicle, thus shortening battery life.In order to solve the issues, a ...

High-Fidelity Model of Stand-Alone Diesel Electric Generator With Hybrid Turbine-Governor Configuration for Microgrid Studies

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
Diesel electric generators are an inherent part of remote hybrid microgrids found in remote regions of the world that provide primary frequency response (PFR) to restore system frequency during load or generation changes.

Disturbance Rejection-Based Optimal PID Controllers for New 6ISO AVR Systems

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2023
In the literature, different approaches that are employed in designing automatic voltage regulators (AVRs) usually model the AVR as a single-input-single-output system, where the input is the generator reference voltage, and the output is the generator ...

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.
