Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

RESEARCH OF LIMIT TIME INDICES OF SOFTWARE ENVIRONMENTS OF REAL TIME OPERATING SYSTEMS

open access: yesNauka ta progres transportu, 2018
Purpose. More than 20 years of the Worst Case Execution Time (WCET) studies have led to the development of many methods for its evaluation. So far, there are no definitive conclusions about usage of these methods.

Robust Execution of Contact-Rich Motion Plans by Hybrid Force-Velocity Control

open access: yes, 2019
In hybrid force-velocity control, the robot can use velocity control in some directions to follow a trajectory, while performing force control in other directions to maintain contacts with the environment regardless of positional errors. We call this way

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

A hybrid method for hydrodynamic-kinetic flow - Part I -A particle-gridmethod for reducing stochastic noise in kinetic regimes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this work we present a hybrid particle-grid Monte Carlo method for the Boltzmann equation, which is characterized by a significant reduction of the stochastic noise in the kinetic regime.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Automatic Epileptic Seizures Joint Detection Algorithm Based on Improved Multi-Domain Feature of cEEG and Spike Feature of aEEG

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Epilepsy is a disease in which patients undergo seizures caused by brain functionality disorder. Clinically, it is usually diagnosed by experienced clinicians according to continuous electroencephalography (cEEG), which is time consuming even for ...

Challenges and Solutions of Applying Large-Scale Agile at Organization-al Level [PDF]

open access: yesInformatică economică, 2019
Large-scale agile development receives widespread interest today in research and practice. Two different dimensions could be considered in the context of applying agile at large-scale: individual level, like project or team, and organization level.

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Seepage Analysis in Short Embankments Using Developing a Metaheuristic Method Based on Governing Equations

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
Seepage is one of the most challenging issues in some procedures such as design, construction, and operation of embankment or earth fill dams. The purpose of this research is to develop a new solution based on governing equations to solve the seepage ...
