Complementarity modeling of hybrid systems [PDF]
The authors describe a complementarity framework for hybrid systems, e.g. for switching control systems. They introduce complementarity systems and investigate well-posedness of complementarity systems. The main results are concerned with uniqueness of smooth continuations.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

A Hybrid Deep Learning Approach for Secure Biometric Authentication Using Fingerprint Data
Despite significant advancements in fingerprint-based authentication, existing models still suffer from challenges such as high false acceptance and rejection rates, computational inefficiency, and vulnerability to spoofing attacks.

Cooling of Hybrid Stars with Spin Down Compression
We study the cooling of hybrid stars coupling with spin-down. Due to the spin-down of hybrid stars, the interior density continuously increases, different neutrino reactions may be triggered(from the modified Urca process to the quark and nucleon direct ...

QCD string model for hybrid adiabatic potentials [PDF]
Hybrid adiabatic potentials are considered in the framework of the QCD string model. The einbein field formalism is applied to obtain the large-distance behaviour of adiabatic potentials.

Hybrid cognitive diagnostic model
Cognitive diagnostic models can be classified into two categories based on the type of interaction between attributes: disjunctive and conjunctive. A representative example of the former is the “Deterministic Input Noisy-Or gate” (DINO) model, and of the latter is the “Deterministic Input Noisy-And gate” (DINA) model.

A hybrid model of categorization [PDF]
Category learning is often modeled as either an exemplar-based or a rule-based process. This paper shows that both strategies can be combined in a cognitive architecture that was developed to model other task domains. Variations on the exemplar-based random walk (EBRW) model of Nosofsky and Palmeri (1997b) and the rule-plus-exception (RULEX) rule-based

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).
