Preliminary pyrolysis and combustion study for the hybrid propulsion.
46th AIAA/ASME/SAE/ASEE Joint Propulsion Conference & Exhibit, 2010The hybrid propulsion can be of interest for civilian applications such as space tourism or small size launchers (1000 N thrust). The PRISME institute from the University of Orleans is working since 2007 on related activities. PRISME aims at studying numerically and experimentally a hybrid rocket engine and more specifically the chemical reactions ...

Hybrid Thermionic Space Reactors for Power and Propulsion
Nuclear Technology, 1994A thermo-hydrodynamic-neutronic analysis is performed for a fast, uranium carbide (UC) fueled space-craft nuclear in-core thermionic reactor. The thermo-hydrodynamic analysis shows that a hybrid thermionic spacecraft nuclear reactor can be designed for both electricity generation and nuclear thermal propulsion purposes.

Hybrid energy sources for hybrid electric vehicle propulsion
2008 IEEE Vehicle Power and Propulsion Conference, 2008Today, more and more problems have been arisen in hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). It has been shown that none of any energy sources can solely fulfil all the demands of HEV in some circumstances. Hybrid energy sources become one alternative solution. This energy storage technology has also become one trend of HEV propulsion sources recently.

Single, Hybrid, and Multimode Propulsion for On-Orbit Servicing [PDF]
This study compared the mission performance of four propulsion system options (chemical, electric, hybrid chemical–electric, and single-propellant multimode design) applied to on-orbit servicing vehicles with masses of 100 kg in low Earth orbit (LEO) and 1000 kg in geosynchronous Earth orbit (GEO).

DESIGN ANALYSIS FOR HYBRID PROPULSION
2012Developing green propulsion concepts for aviation requires some changes in standard procedures for the preliminary aircraft design. Standard design procedures are not readily applicable to aircraft/rotorcraft that use multiple energy sources; innovative concepts like hybrid propulsion systems require new approaches in weight and performance prediction.
