Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Active Torsional Vibration Suppression Strategy for Power-Split-HEV Driveline System Based on Dual-Loop Control

open access: yesMachines
Power-split hybrid electric vehicles (power-split-HEVs) exhibit significant engine torque fluctuations due to their mechanical coupling with the driveline, leading to pronounced torsional vibration issues in the drive shaft.

Optimal Energy Management for Hybrid Electric Vehicles Based on Dynamic Programming and Receding Horizon

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
Fuel consumption and emissions in parallel hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) are directly linked to the way the load request to the wheels is managed between the internal combustion engine and the electric motor powered by the battery.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Cold-Start Energy Consumption and CO2 Emissions—A Comparative Assessment of Various Powertrains in the Context of Short-Distance Trips

open access: yesEnergies
The issue of CO2 emissions and energy use is particularly important during short trips, where cold starts cause higher fuel consumption and increased emissions. These conditions, common in daily commuting, make vehicle efficiency a key concern. To reduce

Electrified Damage in Motion Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The electrified damage in motion systems is a fundamental framework presenting the degradation pathway arising from the coupling of electrical energy transport with mechanical contact and interfacial chemistry. The framework positions electrified damage as a distinct degradation regime with unique characteristic surface morphologies and failures of ...
