This article is divided into three parts. The first part offers a record of scientific works using hybridity. The second part explores the criticisms aimed at that concept. Finally the third part offers an extension of the debate on hybridity.

Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

The atomistic-continuum hybrid taxonomy and the hybrid-hybrid approach [PDF]
The Laplacian method, initially introduced in Alexiadis et al. 2013 (1), is here extended to 2D cases. The solution algorithm on which the method is based is modified in order to tackle the issue of numerical noise in 2D domains. We also introduce the idea of the hybrid taxonomy and of hybrid-hybrid methods.

We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.
