[Skin hydration and hydrating products].

Annales de dermatologie et de venereologie, 2018
One of the skin's principal functions is to protect the body against its environment by maintaining an effective epidermal barrier, not only against external factors, but also to prevent water loss from the body. Indeed, water homeostasis is vital for the normal physiological functioning of skin.

Squamometry as a screening method for the evaluation of hydrating products

Skin Research and Technology, 2001
Background/aims: Squamometry is a combination of sampling corneocytes by adhesive coated discs followed by colour measurements after staining the cells. In this study, the correlation between stratum corneum (SC) hydration and scaling was investigated using capacitance measurements and squamometry, respectively. Methods: Stratum corneum hydration and ...

Solubility Behavior of the Hydration Products in the Pore Solution of Hydrated Cement Pastes

Key Engineering Materials, 2013
The concentrations of Ca, Al, Si, Na, K, SO42- and pH value in the pore solution of Portland cement were measured during the first 28 days of hydration at room temperature. A thermodynamic analysis of the elemental concentrations was used to predict saturation indices of various solid phases known to form in normal cement system.

Numerical Investigation on Gas Hydrate Production by Depressurization in Hydrate-Bearing Reservoir

Volume 8: Polar and Arctic Sciences and Technology; Petroleum Technology, 2016
Gas hydrates are anticipated to be a promising energy source with global distribution underneath the oceans and in permafrost regions. Hydrate dissociation referring to the phase transition of the solid gas hydrate into gas and liquid water, can occur due to altered environmental conditions like increase in temperature, decrease in pressure, or the ...

Hydration of 2-cyanoethyl ethers of acetylenic alcohols. Alcoholysis of the hydration products

Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Division of Chemical Science, 1958
1. The hydration of 2-cyanoethyl ethers of various acetylenic alcohols was carried out. 2. The resulting 2-cyanoethyl ethers of α-hydroxy ketones were converted into the corresponding 2-(methoxycarbonyl) ethyl ethers.

Characterization of hydration products of mineral trioxide aggregate

International Endodontic Journal, 2008
AbstractObjective  To characterize the hydration products of white mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA).Methodology  Mineral trioxide aggregate, white Portland cement and bismuth oxide were evaluated using X‐ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and Rietveld XRD. The cements were tested un‐hydrated and after hydration and curing for 30 days at 37 °C.

Production And Transportation Of Natural Gas Hydrate

Technical Meeting / Petroleum Conference of The South Saskatchewan Section, 1999
Abstract The storage of natural gas in hydrates has been investigated since it was discovered that they store large quantities of gas. Dtflerent storage methods have been suggested: either keeping hydrate under low temperature or under pressure.

The Influence of Amylopectin on the Hydration Products of Cement

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
Glutinous rice porridge is widely used to mortar formulations in ancient China, and it is significant to understand the interaction between amylopectin and cement pastes. X-ray diffraction analysis, field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) analysis and atomic force microscopy (AFM) analysis are used to investigate hydration products in the ...
