Infrared characterization of hydrated products of glyoxal in aqueous solution

Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy, 2023
The simplest and most abundant dicarbonyl in the atmosphere, glyoxal ((CHO)2), and its geminal diols via stepwise hydration reactions, monohydrate (CHOCH(OH)2) and dihydrate ((HC(OH)2)2), are proposed to be responsible for the generation of atmospheric acid and the increase in aerosol viscosity.

Early hydration of tricalcium silicate I. Kinetics of the hydration process and the stoichiometry of the hydration products

Cement and Concrete Research, 1979
Abstract The initial hydration of C3S in paste form at room temperature was studied. The process is initiated by a short lasting rapid hydration in which about 1 – 2% of C3S is hydrated and a hydrate with low C/S and high H/S ratio is formed. After a subsequent induction period of 4 hours a renewed rapid hydration is observed in which a hydrate of ...

Hydration of Nitrosylruthenium Bis(alkynyl) Complexes with Hydrotris(pyrazolyl)borate:  Insertion/Hydration and Double Hydration Products

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2004
Hydration of nitrosylruthenium bis(alkynyl) complex TpRu(CCPh)2(NO) (1) (Tp = BH(pyrazol-1-yl)3) was carried out in the presence of HBF4.Et2O in distilled MeOH and afforded the metallacycle TpRu{CH=C(Ph)C(O)CH(Ph)}(NO) (2) (39%) and the bis(ketonyl) TpRu(CH2C(O)Ph)2(NO) (3) (37%). While double hydration of 1 gave 3, 2 was produced through a combination

THE HYDRATION OF THE ALUMINATES OF CALCIUM.: II. THE HYDRATION PRODUCTS OF TRICALCIUM ALUMINATE

Canadian Journal of Research, 1929
Further studies on the isometric form of hydrated tricalcium aluminate are reported. These include methods of preparation, crystalline forms, X-ray diffraction pattern, and determinations of solubility and density. The products formed when the hexagonal form of hydrated tricalcium aluminate is dehydrated at definite vapor pressures of Water at 21 °C.,

[Skin hydration and hydrating products].

Annales de dermatologie et de venereologie, 2018
One of the skin's principal functions is to protect the body against its environment by maintaining an effective epidermal barrier, not only against external factors, but also to prevent water loss from the body. Indeed, water homeostasis is vital for the normal physiological functioning of skin.

Squamometry as a screening method for the evaluation of hydrating products

Skin Research and Technology, 2001
Background/aims: Squamometry is a combination of sampling corneocytes by adhesive coated discs followed by colour measurements after staining the cells. In this study, the correlation between stratum corneum (SC) hydration and scaling was investigated using capacitance measurements and squamometry, respectively. Methods: Stratum corneum hydration and ...

Solubility Behavior of the Hydration Products in the Pore Solution of Hydrated Cement Pastes

Key Engineering Materials, 2013
The concentrations of Ca, Al, Si, Na, K, SO42- and pH value in the pore solution of Portland cement were measured during the first 28 days of hydration at room temperature. A thermodynamic analysis of the elemental concentrations was used to predict saturation indices of various solid phases known to form in normal cement system.

Numerical Investigation on Gas Hydrate Production by Depressurization in Hydrate-Bearing Reservoir

Volume 8: Polar and Arctic Sciences and Technology; Petroleum Technology, 2016
Gas hydrates are anticipated to be a promising energy source with global distribution underneath the oceans and in permafrost regions. Hydrate dissociation referring to the phase transition of the solid gas hydrate into gas and liquid water, can occur due to altered environmental conditions like increase in temperature, decrease in pressure, or the ...
