Effect of Channel Boundary Conditions in Predicting Hydraulic Jump Characteristics using an ANFIS-Based Approach

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics, 2018
Hydraulic jump is a phenomenon which is used to dissipate the kinetic energy of the flow and prevent scour below overflow spillways, chutes and sluices. This paper applies adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) as a Meta model approach to estimate

Ecosystem‐Centered Robot Design: Toward Ecoresorbable Sustainability Robots (ESRs)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Robots exploring natural ecosystems can support monitoring and conservation, but must adopt ecosystem‐centered design to avoid pollution, waste, and damage. This review proposes guidelines for co‐designing ecoresorbable sustainability robots (ESRs), uniting materials, robotics, and ecological contexts in a single framework.

Burn‐Safe Biodegradable Magnetocaloric Composites for Temperature‐Controlled Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work investigates a magnetocaloric (Mn,Fe)2(P,Si) compound tailored for precise, self‐regulating heating in biomedical use. With a Curie temperature tuned at 43 °C, it enables therapeutic activation without overheating. Encapsulation in a composite ensures controlled temperature rise under an alternating magnetic field (AMF), with high ...

Performance Comparison of Prediction of Hydraulic Jump Length Under Multiple Neural Network Models

open access: yesIEEE Access
Hydraulic jump is a common physical phenomenon in the field of hydraulic engineering. The essence of hydraulic jump is the conversion and dissipation of a large amount of energy due to the interaction between vortex structures, mainly released in the ...

Regulation of Excitonic Behavior in Defective Acetylenic Polymers Enables Mechanism Switching in O2 Activation for Enhanced Water Decontamination

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A molecular defect‐mediated charge accumulation strategy is developed to regulate the exciton behavior for selective molecular oxygen (O2)activation in poly(1,3,5‐triethynylbenzene) (PTEB). Artificial internal electric field (IEF) constructed in defective PTEB provides internal driving force to steer the directed migration of charge carriers, thereby ...

Bio‐Inspired Micro‐Fin‐Assisted Multi‐Modal Vascular Intervention

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A magnetic guidewire with a micro‐fin–integrated tip is introduced for multimodal cardiovascular navigation. The micro‐fins exploit fluid drag to augment magnetic torque, enabling bifurcation traversal at 15 mT, tolerating 45° misalignment, bidirectional crawling, and buckle self‐correction.
