Synthesis of Ethyl Methyl Carbonate: Past, Present, and Future
Ethyl methyl carbonate (EMC) is the simplest asymmetric organic carbonate, with properties between dimethyl (DMC) and diethyl (DEC) carbonate, considered a unique green liquid organic compound for lithium batteries (electrolyte) and gasoline blending (octane enhancer additive), among other uses. In accordance, the chemical production of EMC is expected

ABSTRACT Large‐ion (K, Na) battery systems mitigate uneven global lithium distribution, while their ability to attain recharge time shorter than refueling would remove the final barrier for secondary batteries to replace petroleum vehicles. However, their large‐ion chemistry makes ultra‐fast charging an even significant challenge.

A bottom‐up, component‐resolved framework combining DSC/TGA, evolved gas analysis, and in situ XRD reveals how decomposition pathways control energy release in partial and micro‐cell configurations. Separator‐free assemblies are dominated by cathode‐O2${\rm O}_2$/anode‐Li reactions, while the separator restricts oxygen transport, reshapes the reaction ...

Abstract INTRODUCTION Dementia is a public health challenge and exposures likely contribute to risk, though many have not been evaluated. We screened chemicals for enrichment with dementia genes and related pathways. METHODS We obtained gene lists from Agora and the Comparative Toxicogenomics Database (CTD) for 1008 chemicals and nine dementia‐related ...

Redox Modulation in Truxene‐Based Phosphaalkenes Through Peripheral Substitution
Peripheral halogenation, followed by the sequential incorporation of one, two, and three phosphaalkene acceptor units, induces progressive distortion of the truxene framework, modulates the frontier molecular orbital energies, and systematically shifts the reduction potentials to milder values.

Advanced Sorbent Materials in Solid‐Phase Extraction: A Decade of Innovation and Future Perspectives
This review systematically summarizes five families of advanced sorbent materials for solid‐phase extraction (SPE): nanocarbons, porous frameworks (MOFs/COFs), smart polymers, biomass‐derived sorbents, and multifunctional composites. Key molecular interactions (π–π stacking, hydrogen bonding, electrostatic attraction, host–guest recognition) are ...

Design and Characterization of Dual‐Modal Fluorinated BODIPY Probes
Here we show a fluorinated BODIPY dye that combine 19F traceability with photoluminescence, properly designed to reduce aggregation‐induced quenching and to adjust the packing in condensed environments. The molecule can be encapsulated in Pluronic F68‐stabilized poly(lactic‐co‐glycolic acid) nanoparticles.
