Exploring an Alternative to mRNA Vaccine Cold Chain Storage: MRNA‐Lipid Nanoparticle Stability When Dried in a Polymer Matrix

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The nanostructure, size, and function of mRNA‐loaded lipid nanoparticles are evaluated before drying, within polymer microneedles, and after rehydration. The results reveal the polymer and LNP loadings required to recover nanostructure and preserve the delivery performance in dry‐state formulations.

Mechanoluminescent HOF Nanotransducers Enabled Sono‐Optogenetics in Parkinsonian Rats

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present a mechanoluminescent system utilizing porous hydrogen‐bonded organic frameworks (HOFs) as a toolkit for focused ultrasound‐triggered, non‐invasive light delivery to the deep brain in rats. This approach enables the specific activation of PV‐GPe neurons in dopamine‐depleted Parkinson's disease rat models, resulting in a comparable alleviation

Pickering‐Engineered Microparticles for Magnetically Guided Motion and Light‐Triggered Catalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetically responsive wax microparticles stabilized by hematite cubes through the Pickering emulsification strategy are developed, showing controlled size, motion, and light‐activated catalytic activity. Annealing under a magnetic field enhances their mobility and steering.

Towards effects from stent implantation into coronary bifurcation stenosis: experiment and simulation

open access: yesСибирский научный медицинский журнал
Coronary artery disease is a widespread cause of death and disability in the population. Angioplasty of the coronary arteries is one of the most common methods of eliminating the cause of ischemia – stenosis of the coronary arteries. As a result of stent

Recent Advances in the Analysis of Macromolecular Interactions Using the Matrix-Free Method of Sedimentation in the Analytical Ultracentrifuge

open access: yesBiology, 2015
Sedimentation in the analytical ultracentrifuge is a matrix free solution technique with no immobilisation, columns, or membranes required and can be used to study self-association and complex or “hetero”-interactions, stoichiometry, reversibility and ...

MXene Wrapped Magnetic Mesocrystals for Durable Redox Catalytic Cancer Therapy and Responsive MRI

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conformal wrapping of ultrathin Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets on Fe3O4 mesocrystals creates topology‐stabilized Schottky junctions that direct photoinduced electron transfer under NIR irradiation. The unique architecture sustains Fenton catalysis, promotes continuous hydroxyl radical production, and provides photo‐responsive MRI contrast.

Hydrodynamization and resummed viscous hydrodynamics

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics E
In this paper, I review our current understanding of the applicability of hydrodynamics to modeling the quark–gluon plasma (QGP), focusing on the question of hydrodynamization/thermalization of the QGP and the anisotropic hydrodynamics (aHydro) far-from-equilibrium hydrodynamic framework.

Janus Photonic Graphics by Stratified Assembly of Two Distinct Colloids

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Double‐sided Janus photonic micropatterns with vivid structural colors are fabricated through a single‐step bottom‐up strategy. Density‐driven stratification and depletion‐mediated crystallization of PMMA and PS binary colloids lead to exclusive lattices on opposite surfaces under centrifugal force.

Assessment of evapotranspiration simulations in the Malše basin

open access: yesSoil and Water Research, 2009
The application of the distributed hydrological model brings the benefits of assessment of the spatially distributed quantities which are hard to measure in the field over a larger area, e.g. evapotranspiration.

Generalized hydrodynamics and the classical hydrodynamic limit

open access: yes, 2018
This work is concerned with our recently developed formalism of non-equilibrium thermodynamics. This formalism extends the classical irreversible thermodynamics which leads to classical thermodynamics and can not describe physical phenomena with long relaxations. With the extended theory, we obtain a generalized hydrodynamic system which can be used to
