Stomatal Movement and Hydrogen Ion Concentration [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1932
IN order to test the effect of the hydrogen ion concentration of the cell-sap on stomatal movement, experiments were made with the stomata of Tulipa, Scilla, Iris, and Tradescantia. It was found that the hydrogen ion concentration of the cell-sap of the guard-cells was approximately 4.5, while the epidermal cells were slightly less acid.

Application of ion-selective electrodes for the microdetermination of chlorine and bromine in volatile organic compounds [PDF]

open access: yes, 1972
A method is described for the determination of chlorine and bromine in mg samples of highly halogenated volatile organic compounds. The samples are introduced into the combustion system by injection and burnt in a stream of oxygen at 1000° over platinum ...

Hydrogenation of Zr-2.5Nb alloy after plasma-immersion titanium implantation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The study results of the influence of plasma-immersion ion implantation of titanium in Zr-2.5Nb on hydrogenation are presented. The titanium implantation was carried out in two modes: with active plasma filtering (APF) and passive plasma filtering (PPF).

Hydrogen content in doped and undoped BaPrO3 and BaCeO3 by cold neutron prompt-gamma activation analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Proton uptake in undoped and Y-doped BaPrO3 has been measured by cold neutron prompt-gamma activation analysis, and compared to the proton uptake in Gd-doped BaCeO3, as determined by the same technique.

Formation of vacancy-type defects and hydride introduced by irradiation in pure titanium

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2023
The effect of hydrogen ion irradiation on the formation of hydride and vacancy-type defects in pure titanium was investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Doppler broadening spectrum (DBS), and coincidence Doppler broadening spectrum (CDB) based on slow ...

Comparison of ion cyclotron wall conditioning discharges in hydrogen and helium in JET

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy, 2023
This paper explores the plasma parameters of helium and hydrogen Ion Cyclotron Wall Conditioning (ICWC) discharges performed in JET as part of a He/H fuelling changeover experiment. The conducted study shows that plasma with a higher density is formed in

Investigating pH and other electrical properties of potassium salt solutions

open access: yesFood Chemistry Advances, 2023
A recent study of ours reported that pH of common salts varies with concentration at room temperature. It can either increase in case of basic salts or decrease in case of acidic salts.
