Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

EFFECTS OF ACETIC ACID AND HYDROGEN PEROXIDE ON THE MICROBIOLOGICAL QUALITY AND SKIN APPEARANCE OF POULTRY CARCASSES [PDF]

open access: yesBasrah Journal of Veterinary Research, 2008
The microbiological quality and skin appearance of poultry carcasses were determined after acetic acid and hydrogen peroxide spray. Acetic acid at 1% concentrations showed a significant effect(P0.05) effect the microbial load when compared with asample ...

The effect of hydrogen pressure on the hydrogenation reaction of coal.

open access: yesJOURNAL OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING OF JAPAN, 1977
The hydrogenolysis of Sumiyoshi coal was studied at 400°C under the reaction pressure of 110 to 220 atm. The reaction rate constant was calculated from the rate of decrease of unreacted coal. The data obtained were expressed as a first order reaction consisting of two steps.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Effect of Bismuth on hydrogen storage properties of melt-spun LaNi4.7-x Al0.3Bix (x = 0.0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3) ribbons

open access: yes, 2018
The LaNi5 intermetallic compound is an AB5 type hydrogen storage alloy which exhibits low operating temperature, easy activation, low pressure and tolerance to impurities. In this study, LaNi4.7-x Al0.3Bix (x = 0.0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3) alloys were produced by

Efficient hydrogen production from the lignocellulosic energy crop Miscanthus by the extreme thermophilic bacteria Caldicellulosiruptor saccharolyticus and Thermotoga neapolitana [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Background The production of hydrogen from biomass by fermentation is one of the routes that can contribute to a future sustainable hydrogen economy. Lignocellulosic biomass is an attractive feedstock because of its abundance, low production costs and ...

Methods for detecting and quantifying hydrogen emissions over a wide range of temporal and spatial scales: a state-of-the-art review

open access: yesMeasurement: Energy
Hydrogen (H2) is currently used in several industrial sectors. However, due to its potential contribution to climate neutrality, the H2 market is expected to expand to other sectors in the near future.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

The Effect of Nickel Plating on Hydrogen Embrittlement of High Strength Steel. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
The microstructure of high strength steel is susceptible to delayed failure caused by the absorption of hydrogen produced either during cathodic charging or electroplating. When 0.8%C and AISI 4340 steel are subjected to constant load testing, a wide
