Effect of Water‐Rock Ratio on the Stable Isotope Record of Fluid‐Rock‐Deformation Interactions in Detachment Shear Zone

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems
Oxygen and hydrogen stable isotope analyses of quartz and muscovite veins from the footwall of the Raft River detachment shear zone (Utah) provide insight into the hydrology and fluid‐rock interactions during ductile deformation.

Hydrogen isotope MicroChemLab FY15.

open access: yes, 2015
We have developed a new method to measure the composition of gaseous mixtures of any two hydrogen isotopes, as well as an inert gas component. When tritium is one of those hydrogen isotopes, there is usually some helium present, because the tritium decays to form helium at a rate of about 1% every 2 months.

A Perspective on the Applications of Triphasic Gas Storage in Electrochemical Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Gas storage in microporous materials positioned locally at an electrode or electrocatalyst surface enhances electrochemical processes. Abstract Microporous materials store gases under dry conditions (e.g., hydrogen or oxygen via physisorption), but in some cases microporous materials also show triphasic (e.g., in a solid|gas|liquid system) gas storage ...

Targeting Lactate and Lactylation in Cancer Metabolism and Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactate, once deemed a metabolic waste, emerges as a central regulator of cancer progression. This review elucidates how lactate and its epigenetic derivative, protein lactylation, orchestrate tumor metabolism, immune suppression, and therapeutic resistance.

Dual‐Site Synergistic Mechanism via Single‐Atom and Vacancy Drives Lattice Oxygen Activation in Layered Double Hydroxides

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A strategy utilizing high‐energy ion beam technology to engineer defects in layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanosheets enables the high loading of non‐noble metal Mo single atoms. The synergistic effect between oxygen vacancies and single atoms promotes a novel mechanism for lattice oxygen activation, thereby significantly enhancing the oxygen evolution

Structure‐Guided Engineering of a Promiscuous O‐Methyltransferase for a SAM Regeneration Biocatalysis Platform of Methylated Pharmaceuticals

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A substrate promiscuous and regioselective O‐methyltransferase, SmOMT, is functionally and structurally characterized. A double mutant, SmOMTE152A/I306A, exhibited enhanced catalytic activity. By coupling this mutant with a mutant halide methyltransferase, AtHMTV140T, for SAM regeneration, a superior artificial fusion enzyme, AtHMTV140T‐L95‐SmOMTE152A ...

Geometric isotope effect of deuteration in a hydrogen-bonded host–guest crystal

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
Deuterating a hydrogen bond can change the bond’s geometry, a phenomenon known as the geometric isotope effect (GIE). Here, the authors find that a hydrogen-bonded host–guest crystal, imidazolium hydrogen terephthalate, exhibits significant GIE on its ...
