Activation of hydrogen peroxide to peroxytetradecanoic acid is responsible for potent inhibition of protein tyrosine phosphatase CD45. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Hydrogen peroxide induces oxidation and consequently inactivation of many protein tyrosine phosphatases. It was found that hydrogen peroxide, in the presence of carboxylic acids, was efficiently activated to form even more potent oxidant - peroxy acid ...

Keck II Observations of Hemispherical Differences in H2O2 on Europa [PDF]

open access: yesAstrophysical Journal Letters, 766:L21 , 2013, 2013
We present results from Keck II observations of Europa over four consecutive nights using the near-infrared spectrograph (NIRSPEC). Spectra were collected in the 3.14--4.0 micron range, allowing detection and monitoring of the 3.5 micron feature due to hydrogen peroxide. Galileo Near-Infrared Spectrometer (NIMS) results first revealed hydrogen peroxide

Leaching of a Cu-Co ore from Congo using sulphuric acidhydrogen peroxide leachants [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mining and Metallurgy. Section B: Metallurgy, 2013
A Cu-Co ore from Katinga Province, the Republic of Congo containing 1.5% Co and 1.6% Cu was tested to determine the leachability of Cu and Co using sulphuric acid and hydrogen peroxide mixtures at different conditions.

Nonlinear, electrocatalytic swimming in the presence of salt [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Chem. Phys. 136, 214507, 2012, 2012
A small, bimetallic particle in a hydrogen peroxide solution can propel itself by means of an electrocatalytic reaction. The swimming is driven by a flux of ions around the particle. We model this process for the presence of a monovalent salt, where reaction-driven proton currents induce salt ion currents.

Formation of Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Hydrogen Peroxide in Electron Irradiated Crystalline Water Ice [PDF]

open access: yesAstrophys.J.639:534-548,2006, 2005
Water ice is abundant both astrophysically, for example in molecular clouds, and in planetary systems. The Kuiper belt objects, many satellites of the outer solar system, the nuclei of comets and some planetary rings are all known to be water-rich.

Deep search for hydrogen peroxide toward pre- and protostellar objects -- Testing the pathway of grain surface water formation [PDF]

open access: yesA&A 636, A114 (2020), 2020
Context: In the laboratory, hydrogen peroxide (HOOH) was proven to be an intermediate product in the solid-state reaction scheme that leads to the formation of water on icy dust grains. When HOOH desorbs from the icy grains, it can be detected in the gas phase.

Quantifying hydrogen peroxide in iron-containing solutions using leuco crystal violet

open access: yesGeochemical Transactions, 2005
Hydrogen peroxide is present in many natural waters and wastewaters. In the presence of Fe(II), this species decomposes to form hydroxyl radicals, that are extremely reactive.

Persister Cell Formation and Elevated lsrA and lsrC Gene Expression upon Hydrogen Peroxide Exposure in a Periodontal Pathogen Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans

open access: yesMicroorganisms, 2023
The effect of hydrogen peroxide, an antiseptic dental treatment, on Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, the main causative agent of localized invasive periodontitis, was investigated.

Luminol immobilized graphite electrode as sensitive electrochemiluminescent sensor for the detection of hydrogen peroxide

open access: yesSensors International, 2020
The present work, presents the Luminol immobilized electrochemiluminescence (ECL) for the detection of hydrogen peroxide. Herein, the ECL behavior of luminol immobilized on graphite as a paste electrode has been studied in nearly neutral solution (pH = 8)

H$_2$O$_2$ within chaos terrain on Europa's leading hemisphere [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Hydrogen peroxide is part of an important radiolytic cycle on Europa and may be a critical source of oxidants to the putative subsurface ocean. The surface geographic distribution of hydrogen peroxide may constrain the processes governing its abundance as well as its potential relevance to the subsurface chemistry.
