Molecular Oncology, EarlyView.TOMM20 increases cancer aggressiveness by maintaining a reduced state with increased NADH and NADPH levels, oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS), and apoptosis resistance while reducing reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels. Conversely, CRISPR‐Cas9 knockdown of TOMM20 alters these cancer‐aggressive traits.

The simulations of water radiolysis show that in the cell medium the most long-living species are hydrogen peroxide (H$_2$O$_2$) molecules. But up to the present time the role of H$_2$O$_2$ molecules in the deactivation of cancer cells has not been determined yet.
