Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Complexes of hydrogen peroxide and DNA phosphate group in quantum chemical calculations

open access: yesБіофізичний вісник, 2018
Background: Molecules of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) can be formed during radiolysis process in water medium after irradiation. A hypothesis about the possible role of hydrogen peroxide in blocking of processes of nonspecific DNA recognition by proteins is ...

Proteome-wide analysis of cysteine oxidation reveals metabolic sensitivity to redox stress [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are increasingly recognised as important signalling molecules through oxidation of protein cysteine residues. Comprehensive identification of redox-regulated proteins and pathways is crucial to understand ROS-mediated events.

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Development of an Analytical Method for Fast Detection of Residual Hydrogen Peroxide in Foods Based on Oxidative Etching of Avocado Seed Extract Capped With Gold Nanoparticles

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry
A rapid hydrogen peroxide analytical method was developed in this study. The developed method incorporated gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) and potassium thiocyanate (KSCN) to improve residual hydrogen peroxide detection performance. Specifically, Au NPs were

Evaluation of Extraradicular Diffusion of Hydrogen Peroxide during Intracoronal Bleaching Using Different Bleaching Agents

open access: yesInternational Journal of Dentistry, 2015
Objectives. Extra radicular diffusion of hydrogen peroxide associated with intracoronal teeth bleaching was evaluated. Methods. 108 intact single rooted extracted mandibular first premolars teeth were selected.

Targeting TNBC: core–shell polycationic polyurea dendrimers with inherent anticancer activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Core–shell polycationic PURE dendrimers were tested in TNBC‐derived tumor models. Both formulations selectively targeted TNBC and effectively reduced tumor volume. PUREG4‐OEI48 suppressed tumor growth without detectable toxicity, whereas PUREG4‐OCEI24, despite showing efficacy, induced hepatic toxicity.

Hydrogen peroxide and disease: towards a unified system of pathogenesis and therapeutics

open access: yesMolecular Medicine, 2020
Although the immune response has a prominent role in the pathophysiology of ulcerative colitis, sepsis, and systemic lupus erythematosus, a primary immune causation has not been established to explain the pathogenesis of these diseases.

Coating for components requiring hydrogen peroxide compatibility [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The present invention provides a heretofore-unknown use for zirconium nitride as a hydrogen peroxide compatible protective coating that was discovered to be useful to protect components that catalyze the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide or corrode when

Portal Venous Gas Following Ingestion of Hydrogen Peroxide Successfully Treated with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The primary toxicity of hydrogen peroxide results from its interaction with catalase, which liberates water and oxygen. We report the case of a 14-year-old Japanese girl with portal venous gas that was caused by oxygen liberated from intentionally ...
