Time‐resolved synchrotron X‐ray total scattering of alkali‐activated materials with high and low calcium contents

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, EarlyView.
Synchrotron in situ high‐energy X‐ray total scattering/pair distribution function (PDF) analysis quantifies the time‐resolved structural evolution of high and low calcium alkali‐activated binders, with PDF peak evolution tracking reaction progress and correlating with calorimetry (R2 > 0.97).

Hydrogenolysis of Guaiacol to Phenol Over Ru‐FeOx Nanoparticles Supported on TiO2

open access: yesCarbon and Hydrogen, Volume 28, Issue 3, Page 340-348, September 2026.
This work demonstrates that the Ru/FeOx–TiO2 catalyst enables selective CAr–OCH3 bond cleavage in water, achieving a phenol selectivity of 81.1% at a 90.4% conversion of guaiacol. The synergy between Ru and FeOx can effectively promote the selective hydrogenolysis of CAr–OCH3 bonds without the obvious hydrogenation of the benzene ring.

Synthesis of Ethyl Methyl Carbonate: Past, Present, and Future

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 368, Issue 15, 1 August 2026.
Ethyl methyl carbonate (EMC) is the simplest asymmetric organic carbonate, with properties between dimethyl (DMC) and diethyl (DEC) carbonate, considered a unique green liquid organic compound for lithium batteries (electrolyte) and gasoline blending (octane enhancer additive), among other uses. In accordance, the chemical production of EMC is expected

Effect of Processing on Microstructure and Corrosion Mitigating Properties of Hydrotalcite Coatings on AA 6061 Alloy [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2015
Pitting corrosion of the aluminium cladding of spent nuclear fuels stored in light water pools has been observed. To prevent this, coating of the Al cladding with hydrotalcite (HTC) was proposed.
