Impaired hydroxylation of 5-methylcytosine in myeloid cancers with mutant TET2

open access: yesNature, 2010
TET2 is a close relative of TET1, an enzyme that converts 5-methylcytosine (5mC) to 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC) in DNA. The gene encoding TET2 resides at chromosome 4q24, in a region showing recurrent microdeletions and copy-neutral loss of ...

Gibberellin Metabolism in Flowering Plants: An Update and Perspectives

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2020
In plants, gibberellins (GAs) play important roles in regulating growth and development. Early studies revealed the large chemodiversity of gibberellins in plants, but only GA1, GA3, GA4, and GA7 show biological activity that controls plant development ...

Immediate hydroxylation of arenes to phenols via V-containing all-silica ZSM-22 zeolite triggered non-radical mechanism

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
Hydroxylation of arenes via activation of aromatic Csp2–H bond has attracted great attention for decades but remains a huge challenge. Herein, we achieve the ring hydroxylation of various arenes with stoichiometric hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) into the ...

Effect of Alkyl Substituents on the Hydrogen Catalytic Osmylation of Cis and Trans 2-Cyclohexene-Cyclohexanol [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 1995
Catalytic osmylation of cis and trans 2-cyclohexene-cyclohexanol (1a) and (1b) are carried out in the presence of N-methyl morpholine-N-oxide. Under the same conditions, only the cis isomer reacted, leading to triol (3).
