Rheological properties of collagen/hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (COL/HPMC) blended solutions
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2013ABSTRACTCollagen/HPMC blends with different HPMC content (HC) were investigated by dynamic responses, creep recovery, thixotropy, and morphological observation. Storage modulus, loss modulus, complex viscosity, and activation energy decreased with the increased HC, while the flow behavior index increased with the increased HC and the dynamic ...

Polymer film blends of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) and amylose-sodium palmitate inclusion complexes (Na-Palm) were produced with no plasticizer, and were observed to have improved physical and gas barrier properties as compared with pure HPMC.

Directly compressible hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) to support continuous manufacturing
2020This work was undertaken to evaluate a novel hydroxypropyl methylcellulose excipient used in the manufacture of hydrophilic matrix tablets for oral controlled release. This material was coprocessed with a small amount of silicon dioxide to provide improvements over the standard material and was shown to have better flow, compactability and less ...

Four different hydrophilic matrix formulations based on hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) were investigated for erosion properties in vivo. Three formulations contained a fixed amount of HPMC (40%) with varying proportions of two HPMC grades with different molecular weights (Methocel K100LV and K4M), and a fourth formulation contained a lower amount

AbstractBACKGROUNDThe effect of the addition of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) on the textural properties of low‐fat tofu was investigated. Three fat levels (240, 100 and 30 g kg−1) were used to make tofu, which were identified as C (full‐fat tofu), L1 and L2. HPMC (5 g kg−1) was added to soymilk to prepare control and low‐fat tofu, designated as

Vinpocetine is a pH-dependent experimental drug with a short half-life. The sustained-release matrix tablets of vinpocetine were prepared by direct compression using hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) and different amounts of citric acid to set up a system bringing about gradual release of this drug.

The biocompatibility and pharmacokinetics of hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC) 2% (Adatocel) and Tylose 2% (MH 1000) were investigated. A modified anterior chamber implantation test on the rabbit eye is suitable for testing both the biocompatibility and the pharmacokinetics of visco-surgical substances. Both substances were well tolerated.
