Morphological traits and environmental preferences of the Blunt‐headed tree snake Imantodes cenchoa: the effects of sex and ontogeny

open access: yesJournal of Zoology, Volume 328, Issue 1, Page 41-51, January 2026.
Understanding how animals interact with their environment across life stages is key for conservation. In our long‐term study of the Blunt‐headed tree snake (Imantodes cenchoa) in the tropical rainforest of Los Tuxtlas, Mexico, we tracked over 240 individuals and found age‐related differences in environmental preferences.

Accelerated hygrothermal aging of Talc/Cycloaliphatic epoxy composites

open access: yesPolymer Composites, 2018
Cycloaliphatic epoxy (CE) systems are resistant to many aging mechanisms, which make them useful in applications with harsh environments. Reinforcement has been used in epoxy systems to decrease water absorption and improve aging resistance; thus, it is expected that talc would benefit CE systems in a similar manner.

Effect of Two Different Epoxy‐Adhesives on the Bond Strength of Single‐Lap, Butt and Scarf Joints of Sisal‐Jute Fiber Composites

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 7, Issue 12, December 2025.
This study experimentally investigates the development and properties of sisal and jute woven mat epoxy composites that offer uniform fiber distribution and ease of fabrication, with the mat structure significantly enhancing wear resistance. This study compares the adhesive bond strength of these composites using sisal, jute, and hybrid mats joined ...

Synergistic Thermo‐Hygroscopic Response in Bioinspired CB‐TPU Sensors Fabricated via FDM for Respiratory Monitoring

open access: yesSmartMat, Volume 6, Issue 6, December 2025.
Resistive sensors are fabricated by Fused Deposition Modeling using carbon black–filled TPU in three bio‐inspired geometries and thicknesses. The sensors show stable and repeatable responses to temperature and humidity, with the honeycomb design providing the highest sensitivity. Integration into a commercial face mask enables reliable respiratory rate

Optimizing the construction process: State‐of‐art, innovations, and potential benefits of temperature match curing

open access: yesStructural Concrete, Volume 26, Issue 6, Page 7312-7325, December 2025.
Abstract The temperature match curing (TMC) method significantly enhances the accuracy of concrete property assessments by replicating in situ curing conditions in test specimens. While this method has remained underutilized and relatively unknown in the industry due to its complexity, the advent of Internet of Things and wireless sensor technologies ...

What is drier? Understanding humidity in green‐certified dwellings: a winter case study from Auckland, New Zealand

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Society of New Zealand, Volume 55, Issue 6, Page 1959-1978, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Despite the growing emphasis on green‐certified buildings, there remains a notable gap in understanding their humidity performance, particularly in residential settings. This study addresses this gap by evaluating the wintertime humidity performance of 40 subsidised, 7‐Homestar certified apartments for older residents in Auckland, New Zealand.

Investigation on the Durability of PLA Bionanocomposite Fibers Under Hygrothermal Conditions

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials, 2019
Hygrothermal aging of neat poly(lactic acid) (PLA), PLA/microcrystalline cellulose (MCC), and PLA/cellulose nanowhiskers (CNW) fibers prepared by melt-spinning process was investigated at 95% relative humidity (RH) and two temperatures, i.e., 45 and 60°C.
