A New Diterpene Isolated from the Resin of Hymenaea Courbaril

Chemistry of Natural Compounds, 2015
Hymenaea courbaril, a traditional medicinal plant from Brazil, produces a resin rich in terpenoid compounds, mainly diterpenes. The resin and others parts are used in folk medicine for treatment of several pathologies. Fractionation of the resin by silica gel open column chromatography afforded two compounds: (5S,9S,10R)-ent-labd-8(17)-en-15 ethyl ...

A new family of oligosaccharides from the xyloglucan of Hymenaea courbaril L. (Leguminosae) cotyledons

open access: yesCarbohydrate Research, 1997
The xyloglucan from cotyledons of Hymenaea courbaril was hydrolysed with endo-(1,4)-beta-D-glucanase (cellulase) and analysed by TLC and HPAEC. The limit digest was different from those obtained from xyloglucans of Tamarindus indica and Copaifera langsdorffii.

Agoutis (Dasyprocta punctata): The Inheritors of Guapinol (Hymenaea courbaril: Leguminosae)

Tasks for Vegetation Science, 1986
Hymenaea courbaril (guapinol) is a large-seeded neotropical tree that owes much of its present widespread distribution to seed dispersal by agoutis. Guapinol fruit and fruiting traits influence the fate of a pod’s seeds by affecting agouti scatterhoarding behavior. Agoutis transport pods of experimental fruit crops 0−200+ m.

Tolerance of Hymenaea courbaril L. to glyphosate

Ecotoxicology, 2021
The objective was to evaluate the effect of the glyphosate on Hymenaea courbaril L. A randomized block design with five replications was implemented. Each experimental unit was composed of one plant in a 5 L container. The treatments were 0 "control"; 96; 240; 480; and 960 g ha-1 "corresponding to 10, 25, 50, and 100% of the commercial dose of ...

Xyloglucan from the leaves of Hymenaea courbaril

Phytochemistry, 2001
A fucosylated xyloglucan was isolated from the leaves of Hymenaea courbaril by alkaline extraction, followed by ethanol precipitation and ion-exchange chromatography. The isolated polysaccharide showed Glc:Xyl:Gal:Fuc in molar ratio of 8:5:2.5:1 and (D)(25) +40.5 degrees.

Annual Growth Rings in a Sample of Hymenaea Courbaril

IAWA Journal, 2006
Several tropical tree species form regular growth rings that may be annual and thus be useful in paleoclimate reconstructions. Regular growth rings were observed in one stem disk of the tropical legume Hymenaea courbaril harvested near the city of David, Panama. By comparison to annual reference Δ14C values from temperate tree wood and air, Δ14C values

Sesquiterpenes in leaf pocket resin of Hymenaea courbaril

Phytochemistry, 1972
Abstract The major sesquiterpene hydrocarbons of Hymenaea courbaril leaf pocket resin were identified as caryophyllene and α- and β-selinene; α-cubebene, α-copaene, β-copaene, α- and β-humulene, γ-muurolene, and δ-cadinene were also present in smaller amounts.

THE SHOOT APEX OF HYMENAEA COURBARIL (LEGUMINOSAE)

American Journal of Botany, 1975
Shoot apices of Hymenaea courbaril are representative of those of many distichous plants, showing sharp intraplastochronic changes as a result of differential growth of the most recently formed primordium and the apical meristem proper.
