Specific modification of xyloglucan from Hymenaea courbaril seeds
Materials Science and Engineering: C, 2009Abstract In this work, xyloglucan extracted from the seeds of Hymenaea courbaril (jatoba) collected in Rancho Alegre, Parana, Brazil (JRAXG), was oxidized at the C-6 position of galactose or glucose units, using 2,3,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl, to form uronic acid-containning polysaccharides (JRAOXGs), with different degrees of oxidation (10, 23

Quantitative variation in leaf pocket resin composition in Hymenaea courbaril
Biochemical Systematics and Ecology, 1974Abstract Leaf pocket resin sesquiterpenes have been quantitatively analyzed in 22 geographic populations of the widespread Hymenaea courbaril . Highly stable quantitative resin composition in Meso-American populations of H. courbaril contrasts with greater variability in several South American populations.

Structural features of a xylogalactan isolated from Hymenaea courbaril gum
Food Hydrocolloids, 2007Abstract The gum from Hymenaea courbaril (Caesalpiniaceae) produced gum at seed level. The gum is soluble in water, dextrorotatory and less viscous than the gum from Cyamopsis tetragonolobus (guar gum). The polysaccharide, isolated from this gum, contains galactose, glucose, xylose and arabinose.

Ipomopsin and hymenain, two biscoumarins from seeds of Hymenaea courbaril
Phytochemistry Letters, 2009Abstract A new biscoumarin (7-hydroxy-6,6′-dimethoxy-3,7′-dicoumarinyl ether), named hymenain (1) and the known biscoumarin ipomopsin (2) were isolated from the germinated seeds of Hymenaea courbaril var. stilbocarpa. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods.

Anti-inflammatory and anticancer activity of the essential oil of Hymenaea courbaril
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the anti-inflammatory and anticancer activities of Hymenaea courbaril (jatobá) essential oil (EO), as well as characterize its chemical composition. Methods: The EO was extracted via hydrodistillation from fruits collected in Maranhão, Brazil. Anti-inflammatory activity was assessed using the albumin denaturationGustavo Oliveira Everton +9 more

VIABILITY AND EFFICIENCY OF TETRAZOLIUM TEST IN STORED Hymenaea courbaril SEEDS
Considering the socioeconomic importance of the genus Hymenaea sp., it is necessary to conduct studies on the loss of viability of Hymenaea courbaril seeds during storage, with a view to optimizing the use of the tetrazolium test. Therefore, with the limitations of the germination test and the effectiveness of the tetrazolium test in identifying and ...A.G Souza +3 more
