Fault tolerant kinematic control of hyper-redundant manipulators
Hyper-redundant spatial manipulators possess fault-tolerant features because of their redundant structure. The kinematic control of these manipulators is investigated with special emphasis on fault-tolerant control.

Mass Transport Mechanisms in 2D Laminar Nanofluidic Membranes for Separation and Energy Conversion
This review explores how two‐dimensional laminar membranes govern the transport of ions and molecules in confinement for advanced separation and energy conversion. By discussing how nanochannel architecture shapes membrane performance, this work highlights cation intercalation and functional modifications to improve osmotic energy harvesting ...

Visualizing Specific Tubulin Isotypes and Pathogenic Variants in Cellular Microtubule Arrays
ABSTRACT Eukaryotic cells depend on dynamic microtubule arrays to execute a wide range of functions vital for life. These microtubule filaments are formed through the polymerization of α/β‐tubulin proteins, which can be generated from numerous tubulin genes, or isotypes.

JOINT DESIGN FOR A HYPER-REDUNDANT SERIAL MANIPULATOR
We propose a joint design for a low-cost, light-weight, hyper-redundant serial manipulator. The proposed design consists of two rigid end plates connected by a universal joint; two sets of agonist/antagonist linear actuator pairs allow independent 2-DOF control.

Edge Fluid Turbulence Simulations of Stellarators With GRILLIX
ABSTRACT The edge fluid turbulence code GRILLIX has recently been extended from axisymmetric tokamak geometries to support 3D stellarator configurations. Following successful proof‐of‐principle simulations published in Stegmeir et al., we present here a comprehensive simulation of the Wendelstein 7‐AS stellarator.

Bubble dynamics pose critical bottlenecks to hydrogen evolution reaction efficiency, causing active site isolation, increased ohmic resistance, and concentration overpotential, especially at high current densities. This review comprehensively summarizes passive and active bubble manipulation strategies, elucidates their underlying principles, and ...

Inverse Kinematics of Discretely Actuated Hyper-Redundant Manipulators Using Workspace Densities
Hyper-redundant manipulators present an alternative to conventional 6 DOF manipulators for inspection, space, and medical applications. The additional degrees of freedom facilitate obstacle avoidance and allow tasks to be performed even if some of the ...

Computing forward statics from tendon-length in flexible-joint hyper-redundant manipulators
Hyper-redundant tendon-driven manipulators offer greater flexibility and compliance over traditional manipulators. A common way of controlling such manipulators relies on adjusting tendon lengths, which is an accessible control parameter.
