Understanding Hyperbolic Metric Learning through Hard Negative Sampling [PDF]
In recent years, there has been a growing trend of incorporating hyperbolic geometry methods into computer vision. While these methods have achieved state-of-the-art performance on various metric learning tasks using hyperbolic distance measurements, the

Metric Embedding, Hyperbolic Space, and Social Networks∗ [PDF]
We consider the problem of embedding an undirected graph into hyperbolic space with minimum distortion. A funda-mental problem in its own right, it has also drawn a great deal of interest from applied communities interested in em-pirical analysis of ...

Traces of Besov, Triebel-Lizorkin and Sobolev Spaces on Metric Spaces
We establish trace theorems for function spaces defined on general Ahlfors regular metric spaces Z. The results cover the Triebel-Lizorkin spaces and the Besov spaces for smoothness indices s < 1, as well as the first order Hajłasz-Sobolev space M1,p(Z).

We investigate how changes in the boundary metric affect the shape of AdS black holes. Most of our work is analytic and based on the AdS C-metric. Both asymptotically hyperbolic and compact black holes are studied. It has recently been shown that the AdS

Atomic layer deposition is used to conformally surface engineer polymeric membranes to fabricate inorganic–organic hybrid membranes. These membranes have exceptionally strong attraction toward water even in high oil containing emulsions, which leads to an extremely strong hydration layer at the interface.

Quasi-metric antipodal spaces and maximal Gromov hyperbolic spaces [PDF]
Hyperbolic fillings of metric spaces are a well-known tool for proving results on extending quasi-Moebius maps between boundaries of Gromov hyperbolic spaces to quasi-isometries between the spaces.

Acylindrical hyperbolicity of groups acting on trees [PDF]
We provide new examples of acylindrically hyperbolic groups arising from actions on simplicial trees. In particular, we consider amalgamated products and HNN-extensions, 1-relator groups, automorphism groups of polynomial algebras, 3-manifold groups and ...

Versatile Pneumatic Twisted Coiled Actuators Enabled by Fiber‐Polymer Composite Fabrication
This work reports composite Pneumatic Twisted Coiled Actuators with embedded Kevlar fibers that convert pneumatic or hydraulic pressure into powerful linear motion. A novel precise manufacturing technique is used to systematically explore how design variables influence actuator mechanics and dynamics.
