Slash-Weighted Lindley Distribution: Properties, Inference, and Applications
The slash-weighted Lindley model is introduced due to the need to obtain a model with more kurtosis than the weighted Lindley distribution. Several expressions for the pdf of this model are given.

Distributions of the Ratio and Product of Two Independent Weibull and Lindley Random Variables
In this paper, we derive the cumulative distribution functions (CDF) and probability density functions (PDF) of the ratio and product of two independent Weibull and Lindley random variables.

Tur\'an type inequalities for Tricomi confluent hypergeometric functions
Some sharp two-sided Tur\'an type inequalities for parabolic cylinder functions and Tricomi confluent hypergeometric functions are deduced. The proofs are based on integral representations for quotients of parabolic cylinder functions and Tricomi ...

Multicanonical distribution: Statistical equilibrium of multiscale systems
A multicanonical formalism is introduced to describe statistical equilibrium of complex systems exhibiting a hierarchy of time and length scales, where the hierarchical structure is described as a set of nested "internal heat reservoirs" with fluctuating

This work presents ARC‐3D, a soft 3D model that recreates how brain support cells, called astrocytes, react to oxidative stress. The system visualizes rapid calcium changes and inflammatory signals, and shows how the drug KDS12025 can protect cells from damage. ARC‐3D offers a simple, reliable way to study early drivers of brain inflammation.

A Gaming Application of the Negative Hypergeometric Distribution
The Negative Hypergeometric distribution represents waiting times when drawing from a finite sample without replacement. It is analogous to the negative binomial, which models the distribution of waiting times when drawing with replacement.

Schematic diagram depicting the fabrication and application of thymosin β4 (Tβ4)‐loaded microneedle patches for wound treatment. The Tβ4 was loaded into chitosan (CS) and sucrose MNs under mild conditions (4°C, 65% relative humidity). The Tβ4 MN patch specifically binds to the downregulated immune regulators Vsig4 and IL22rα2, thereby accelerating ...

Approximation process of a positive linear operator of hypergeometric type
In this article, we construct a new sequence of positive linear operators Hn:B[0,1]→C[0,1]{H}_{n}:B{[}0,1]\to C{[}0,1] using the hypergeometric distribution of probability theory and the rational values of f at the equally spaced control points k∕nk/n

Inequalities involving hypergeometric and related functions
An inequality is being proved which is connected to cost-effective numerical density estimation of the hyper-gamma probability distribution. The left-hand side of the inequality is a combination of two in the third parameter distinct versions of the ...

Bernstein-type bounds for beta distribution
This work obtains sharp closed-form exponential concentration inequalities of Bernstein type for the ubiquitous beta distribution, improving upon sub-Gaussian and sub-gamma bounds previously studied in this context.
