Challenging the Leukocyte‐Centric Model of Innate Immunity: The Emerging Role of Structural Cells in Immune Defense

open access: yesiNew Medicine, EarlyView.
Structural cells (endothelial, epithelial, neural, and muscle) actively participate in innate immunity as primary responders, challenging the traditional leukocyte‐centric paradigm and opening new therapeutic avenues for precision medicine. ABSTRACT Innate immunity has long been viewed as the domain of circulating mobile immune cells orchestrating ...

Drugs for the Treatment of Hyperlipidemia

open access: yes, 2001
Hyperlipidemia is a major risk factor for the development of cardiovascular disease. Considerable evidence suggests that drugs with the ability to lower low density lipoprotein-cholesterol also lower cardiovascular deaths.

Enhanced peripheral blood mononuclear cell lipid metabolism drives poor immunotherapy response via ferroptotic stress‐induced T cell exhaustion in hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Integrated multi‐omics reveals that CD36‐mediated lipid overload in PBMCs drives T cell exhaustion via sub‐lethal ferroptotic stress and AKT suppression. This systemic metabolic signature serves as a robust predictor of immunotherapy response in HCC, suggesting that modulating lipid metabolism can rescue immune fitness.

Multimodal Comparison of Left Ventricular Function and Volume Assessment Methods in Patients With Coronary Artery Disease: Echocardiography, Nuclear Myocardial Perfusion Imaging, and Cardiac Magnetic Resonance

open access: yesiRADIOLOGY, EarlyView.
Nitrogen‐13 ammonia, positron emission tomography myocardial perfusion imaging shows excellent correlation and agreement with cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) in the assessment of left ventricular function and volumes in patients with coronary artery disease. It offers a reliable alternative when CMR is contraindicated.

Establishment and Application of a Quantitative Lipemia Index as a Novel Indicator for Assessing Lipemic Interference in Clinical Chemistry

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
A rigorously validated quantitative lipemia index (LI) assay was established for direct serum turbidity measurement. This standardized LI metric demonstrated significantly stronger correlation with lipemic interference (rs = 0.822) than conventional triglyceride concentration (rs = 0.770), consistent with its direct measurement of optical turbidity ...
