ABCA1 deficiency‐induced cholesterol accumulation aggravates colonic epithelial injury in knockout hamsters

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
We established ABCA1‐knockout Syrian golden hamsters as a novel and physiologically relevant model for colitis research. When challenged with a high‐fat diet, ABCA1‐deficient hamsters developed exacerbated colonic inflammation and impaired mucosal barrier integrity, driven by intracellular cholesterol accumulation.

Machine Learning to Predict Remission Between 6 and 24 Months in Rheumatoid Arthritis: Insights From JAK, an International Registry Collaboration

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective To develop, externally validate, and simplify a machine learning model to predict remission between 6 and 24 months in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) initiating tumor necrosis factor inhibitors, JAK inhibitors, interleukin‐6 inhibitors, abatacept, or rituximab using data from 11 international registries in the JAK‐pot collaboration ...

Efficacy and Safety of Nanoencapsulated Sirolimus Plus Pegadricase: Results From the Randomized, Placebo‐Controlled Phase 3 Trials

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective DISSOLVE I and II examined the efficacy and safety of nanoencapsulated sirolimus (NAS) plus pegadricase (NASP) in patients with uncontrolled gout (UG). Methods In these double‐blind, placebo‐controlled Phase 3 trials of NASP, patients were randomized 1:1:1 to infusions of high‐dose (HD) or low‐dose (LD) NAS plus pegadricase (HD NASP, LD NASP,

Research Progress on Anti-Hyperlipidemia Peptides Derived from Foods

open access: yes
Hyperlipidemia is a metabolic disorder in which cholesterol (TC) and triglycerides (TGs) in the blood exceed the normal physiological levels. The incidence of the condition has continued to rise in recent years, posing a serious threat to public health ...

Interaction between Sex and LDLR rs688 Polymorphism on Hyperlipidemia among Taiwan Biobank Adult Participants

open access: yes, 2020
Hyperlipidemia is one of the strong risk factors for ischemic heart disease. Using the Taiwan Biobank (TWB) database, we evaluated the risk of hyperlipidemia and its interaction with sex and rs688 polymorphism on the low-density lipoprotein receptor ...

Exposure‐adjusted safety and efficacy of GLP‐I and GLP‐1/GIP receptor agonists compared with non‐GLP‐I for weight management and type 2 diabetes: Based on FDA medical and statistical reports of 34 280 safety and 36 312 efficacy subjects

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Aims This work aimed to contextualize glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor agonists (GLP‐1 RAs) and glucose‐dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptor agonists safety and efficacy regarding weight management (WM); we analysed Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Medical Reviews to analyse 14 medications using patient‐exposure year normalization and ...

Clozapine:norclozapine ratio as a marker of metabolic risk and therapeutic response and effect of valproate on clozapine levels

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Aims Clozapine is the most effective antipsychotic in treatment‐resistant schizophrenia. Clozapine causes weight gain and increased diabetes risk. The role of its metabolite norclozapine and clozapine:norclozapine ratio (CLZ/NCLZ) in metabolic effects has been debated.
