Infravesical urinary tract obstruction and transurethral endoscopic approach of treatment [PDF]
Backqround: The results of scientifical progress in recent years have contributed to the development of transurethral endoscopic surgery, with the implementation of new methods, less invasive, for the treatment of the lower urinary tract diseases of ...

Quantitative analysis of the potential role of basal cell hyperplasia in the relationship between clonal expansion and radon concentration [PDF]
Applying the two-stage clonal expansion model to epidemiology of lung cancer among uranium miners, it has been revealed that radon acts as a promoting agent facilitating the clonal expansion of already mutated cells. Clonal expansion rate increases non-linearly by radon concentration showing a plateau above a given exposure rate.

A qualitative and quantitative analysis of open citations to retracted articles: the Wakefield et al.'s case [PDF]
In this article, we show the results of a quantitative and qualitative analysis of open citations on a popular and highly cited retracted paper: "Ileal-lymphoid-nodular hyperplasia, non-specific colitis, and pervasive developmental disorder in children" by Wakefield et al., published in 1998.

Oxidative stress in prostate hyperplasia and carcinogenesis
Prostatic hyperplasia (PH) is a common urologic disease that affects mostly elderly men. PH can be classified as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), or prostate cancer (PCa) based on its severity.

Macromolecular approaches to prevent thrombosis and intimal hyperplasia following percutaneous coronary intervention. [PDF]
Cardiovascular disease remains one of the largest contributors to death worldwide. Improvements in cardiovascular technology leading to the current generation of drug-eluting stents, bioresorbable stents, and drug-eluting balloons, coupled with advances ...

Artesunate Inhibits Neointimal Hyperplasia by Promoting IRF4 Associated Macrophage Polarization
This study shows that macrophage interferon regulatory factor 4 (IRF4) improved arterial injury‐induced neointimal hyperplasia by promoting of M2 polarization via up‐regulating krüppel‐like factor 4 (KLF4) in rodent and nonhuman primate models. Notably, artesunate is identified as a potent inducer of IRF4 in macrophages, and proposed as a promising ...

Statistical modeling of primary Ewing tumours of the bone [PDF]
This short technical paper advocates a bootstrapping algorithm from which we can form a statistically reliable opinion based on limited clinically observed data, regarding whether an osteo-hyperplasia could actually be a case of Ewing's osteosarcoma. The basic premise underlying our methodology is that a primary bone tumour, if it is indeed Erwing's ...

Atypical hyperplasia of the breast--risk assessment and management options.
Some benign breast lesions have a greatly increased risk of becoming invasive cancers. Atypical hyperplasia is a common high-risk benign lesion, and measures to prevent its progression to cancer are available but underutilized.

Effect of heat exposure on viability and contractility of cultured prostatic stromal cells [PDF]
Objectives: Different thermotherapeutic modalities such as transurethral microwave therapy or transurethral needle ablation have been developed to provide effective alternatives to surgical management of benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH).

LACK156‐173 is internalized into RA‐FLSs via CAPN2‐mediated endocytosis and inhibits the aggressive phenotype of RA‐FLSs by restoring dysregulated fatty acid synthesis metabolism mediated by overexpressed FASN. The findings suggest that targeting the restoration of fatty acid metabolism could potentially alleviate synovial invasion and joint damage in ...
