Tracing the molecular landscape of diabetic nephropathy: Insights from machine learning and experiment verification

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, Volume 16, Issue 8, Page 1473-1486, August 2025.
Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is a major complication of diabetes, leading to end‐stage renal disease. This study identified 109 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and validated LOX as a novel diagnostic biomarker through integrated bioinformatics and experimental analysis.

Gene Expression Shifts in Emperor Penguin Adaptation to the Extreme Antarctic Environment

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 34, Issue 15, August 2025.
ABSTRACT Gene expression can accelerate ecological divergence by rapidly tweaking the response of an organism to novel environments, with more divergent environments exerting stronger selection and supposedly, requiring faster adaptive responses. Organisms adapted to extreme environments provide ideal systems to test this hypothesis, particularly when ...

Successful rechallenge with Erwinia chrysanthemi asparaginase after pegaspargase-induced hypertriglyceridemia: a case report

open access: yesTherapeutic Advances in Hematology
Polyethylene-glycolated Escherichia coli -derived l -asparaginase (pegaspargase, pASP) is an essential component of paediatric-inspired regimens for the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukaemia/lymphoma; nonetheless, is characterised by severe and ...

Dietary Manganese Modulates Microbiota and Intestinal N‐Acylethanolamines in a Sex‐Specific Manner in Mice With Diet‐Induced Obesity

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 39, Issue 13, 15 July 2025.
Female and male mice were fed manganese (Mn)‐depleted or Mn‐enriched diets in combination with either a low fat‐low sucrose (LFLS) or high fat‐high sucrose (HFHS) diet for 28 days. A sex‐specific metabolic response was observed under Mn‐depleted conditions, particularly affecting monoacylglycerol levels.

Abnormal bile acid absorption in familial hypertriglyceridemia

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1995
To better define the abnormality of bile acid metabolism associated with hypertriglyceridemia, we measured bile acid kinetics and absorption as well as preferential use of newly synthesized cholesterol for bile acid synthesis in eleven controls and ten ...
