Elevation of nonfasting triglyceride (TG) levels above 1.8 g/L (2 mmol/L) is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular diseases. Exacerbated postprandial hypertriglyceridemia (PP–HTG) and metabolic context both modulate the overall efficacy of the

Abstract Background Classic Klinefelter syndrome (KS) is characterized by one extra X chromosome (47, XXY), leading to hypergonadotropic hypogonadism and higher risk of alterations in glycolipid homeostasis, cardiovascular diseases, and low bone mineral density. Most frequently, KS is diagnosed in adulthood because of infertility.

Abdominal pain in hypertriglyceridemia [PDF]
Hypertriglyceridemia increases the risk of acute pancreatitis, accounting for a minor but clinically relevant proportion of cases. We present a case of diabetic ketoacidosis, complicated by severe hypertryglyceridemia and pancreatitis. The pancreatitis was managed and controlled by managing the hypertryglyceridemia.

Abnormal bile acid absorption in familial hypertriglyceridemia
To better define the abnormality of bile acid metabolism associated with hypertriglyceridemia, we measured bile acid kinetics and absorption as well as preferential use of newly synthesized cholesterol for bile acid synthesis in eleven controls and ten ...

Conservative management in hypertriglyceridemia‐associated pancreatitis
Severe hypertriglyceridemia (serum triglyceride >10 mmol L−1) is implicated in ~9% of acute pancreatitis cases. Certain guidelines list severe hypertriglyceridemia as an indication for plasmapheresis.
