Glucagon‐Like Peptide‐1 Analogues and the Risk of Recurrent Pancreatitis in Diabetic Patients With History of Pancreatitis or Elevated Lipase: Retrospective Cohort Analysis

open access: yesDiabetes/Metabolism Research and Reviews, Volume 42, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims The use of glucagon‐like peptide‐1 (GLP1) analogues has increased due to benefits in glycaemic control, weight loss, and cardiorenal protection. However, concerns persist regarding their potential link to pancreatitis. We assessed this link in high‐risk patients with a history of pancreatitis or elevated lipase enzyme.

Effectiveness of Saroglitazar in MASLD Patients: A Prospective, Real‐World Assessment of Liver and Metabolic Health

open access: yesEndocrinology, Diabetes &Metabolism, Volume 9, Issue 1, January 2026.
Saroglitazar 4 mg daily for 6 months significantly improved liver stiffness, steatosis, and metabolic parameters in patients with MASLD in this prospective, real‐world study. The drug demonstrated meaningful regression of fibrosis and steatosis with stable BMI, highlighting its dual hepatic and metabolic benefits in MASLD management.

Antihypertensive Effects of Curcumin/Turmeric Supplementation in Prediabetes and Diabetes: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis of Randomised Controlled Trials

open access: yesEndocrinology, Diabetes &Metabolism, Volume 9, Issue 1, January 2026.
Pooled data from randomised controlled trials demonstrate that supplementation with curcumin or turmeric leads to a significant reduction in systolic blood pressure (SBP) in individuals with prediabetes and type 2 diabetes. While the overall effect on diastolic blood pressure (DBP) was not significant, a pre‐specified subgroup analysis showed a ...

Aspirin Use Does Not Significantly Reduce the Risk of Liver Fibrosis in Patients With Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
Our study did not find that aspirin significantly reduces the risk of liver fibrosis in patients with MASLD. Therefore, the long‐term use of aspirin solely for the prevention of liver fibrosis progression cannot be recommended in patients without high cardiovascular or cerebrovascular risk.
