ABSTRACT Background Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is widely used as a therapeutic intervention for various types of wounds. Studies have shown that in addition to improving local oxygen supply to the wound site, HBOT can also influence cytokine activity, promote the survival of tissue mesh, and thereby facilitate wound healing.

ABSTRACT Aminoacyl‐tRNA synthetases (aaRS) are essential enzymes that charge tRNAs with their corresponding amino acids, playing a critical role in protein synthesis. All 37 nuclear‐encoded ARS genes, comprising both cytosolic (ARS1) and mitochondrial (ARS2) isoforms, have now been linked to human disease.

Midazolam Dosing During CRRT: A Combined Ex Vivo and Physiologically‐Based Pharmacokinetic Approach
ABSTRACT Children supported with continuous renal replacement therapy have high mortality rates ranging from 30% to 70%. The cause of this high mortality is multifactorial and includes ineffective drug dosing and altered drug pharmacokinetics. Changes in drug exposure can result from (1) underlying disease; and (2) direct drug interaction and/or ...

Occlusion of an Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt With an Amplatzer Septal Occluder Device in a Dog
This is the first description, to the authors’ knowledge, of the use of an Amplatzer occluder device for a large intrahepatic shunt. In this case, shunt attenuation was successful with no major complications. Instead of accumulating coils or having to proceed with open laparotomy, the use of such device could be made routine for bigger shunt vessels of

A cat with an extensive esophagogastric leiomyosarcoma underwent distal esophagectomy and proximal gastrectomy, followed by esophagogastrostomy using the double‐flap technique (DFT). Reconstruction with DFT was feasible and postoperative complications including leakage, stricture, and reflux were not observed; oral feeding resumed on postoperative day (
