Effect of Heat and Irrigation Agitation on the Smear Layer Removal Ability of Calcium Hypochlorite: A Scanning Electron Microscope Study

open access: yesMicroscopy Research and Technique, EarlyView.
This study evaluated the smear layer removal efficacy of calcium hypochlorite with different heating and agitation techniques. The intracanal heated Passive Ultrasonic Irrigation group achieved the best cleaning, while the control group retained the most.

Electrolytic treatment of latex wastewater [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A novel method of latex wastewater treatment was developed based on in-situ hypochlorous acid generation. The hypochlorous acid was generated in an undivided electrolytic cell consisting of two sets of graphite as anode and stainless sheets as cathode ...

Astatine‐211—Towards In Vivo Stable Astatine‐211 Labeled Radiopharmaceuticals and Their (Pre)Clinical Applications

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Targeted radioligand therapy has emerged as a promising treatment option for eradicating advanced cancer forms. α‐Emitters are considered particularly promising as they can obliterate (micro)‐metastases. The α‐emitter astatine‐211 (211At) has experienced increased interest due to its favorable decay properties.

Plant defense strategies: The dual armor of disease resistance and tolerance

open access: yesNew Plant Protection, EarlyView.
Plants employ dual strategies against pathogens: Resistance limits invasion via immune responses, whereas tolerance mitigates damage to sustain growth—together enhancing survival under infections. Abstract Pathogen infections pose a significant threat to plant health, global food security, and ecosystems.

The use of Hypochlorous Acid as a Model for Investigating Bladder Overactivity

open access: yesInternational Brazilian Journal of Urology, 2014
Involuntary detrusor contractions play an important role in the development of urge incontinence. Also in an in-vitro situation contractions which develop spontaneously can be seen; a parallel with the in vivo observations is likely.

Reaction of superoxide radicals with glycosaminoglycan chloramides: a kinetic study. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Hypochlorous acid and its acid-base counterpart, hypochlorite ions, produced under inflammatory conditions, may produce chloramides of glycosaminoglycans, perhaps through the binding of myeloperoxidase directly to the glycosaminoglycans.

Evaluation of electrolyzed water to control fungal trunk pathogens in grapevine nurseries

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 4, Page 1740-1751, April 2025.
Electrolyzed water treatments could have promising applications in the grapevine nursery process to prevent or reduce infections caused by fungal trunk pathogens on grapevine propagation material. Abstract BACKGROUND Grapevine producers demand solutions to control fungal trunk pathogens (FTPs) in nurseries.
