Depletion of the RNA‐Editing Enzyme ADAR1 Invigorates the Antitumor Immunity of NK Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ADAR1 is upregulated in NK cells from melanoma patients, impairing their function. Its loss enhances NK cell tumor infiltration and cytotoxicity in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, ADAR1 deficiency destabilizes CD38 mRNA to reduce its expression, thereby increasing NK cell mobility and killing, which nominates it as a therapeutic target for NK cell ...

The \u3cem\u3elet-7\u3c/em\u3e MicroRNA Family Members \u3cem\u3emir\u3c/em\u3e-48, \u3cem\u3emir\u3c/em\u3e-84, and mir-241 Function Together to Regulate Developmental Timing in \u3cem\u3eCaenorhabditis elegans\u3c/em\u3e [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The microRNA let-7 is a critical regulator of developmental timing events at the larval-to-adult transition in C. elegans. Recently, microRNAs with sequence similarity to let-7 have been identified.

The Elephant Trunk Skin Inspires a Highly Sensitive and Deformable, Yet Robust, Armor Skin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study presents the elephant trunk‐inspired armor skin with tactile sensing (ETATS). The ETATS architecture stretches and compresses while resisting puncture and tear, and it enables optical detection of pressure and lateral strain. Morphology‐based decoupling of strain and pressure paves the way to sensitive and deformable, yet robust, soft‐robotic

Stage-Specific Timing of the microRNA Regulation of \u3cem\u3elin-28\u3c/em\u3e by the Heterochronic Gene \u3cem\u3elin-14\u3c/em\u3e in \u3cem\u3eCaenorhabditis elegans\u3c/em\u3e [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In normal development, the order and synchrony of diverse developmental events must be explicitly controlled. In the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans, the timing of larval events is regulated by hierarchy of proteins and microRNAs (miRNAs) known as the ...

Patient‐Mounted Neuro Optical Coherence Tomography for Targeted Minimally Invasive Micro‐Resolution Volumetric Imaging in Brain In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
Herein, a patient‐mounted neuro optical coherence tomography system that integrates a 5 degrees‐of‐freedom skull‐mounted robot (Skullbot) with a 0.6 mm neuroendoscope for targeted, minimally invasive deep brain imaging, is developed. The system offers high‐resolution imaging with precise deployment, demonstrated through successful tumor imaging in a ...

Dynamics of 131I accumulation and formation of doses in organs and tissues of the laboratory rats by prolonged oral intake

open access: yesЯдерна фізика та енергетика, 2015
The kinetics of 131I and dose formation in organs and tissues of laboratory Wistar rats with prolonged exposure was investigated. The methodical approach to the identification of variables that allows to describe the function of uptake in the thyroid (TG)

Repulsive guidance molecule acts in axon branching in Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Repulsive guidance molecules (RGMs) are evolutionarily conserved proteins implicated in repulsive axon guidance. Here we report the function of the Caenorhabditis elegans ortholog DRAG-1 in axon branching.

EMG‐Driven Telemetry and Inference System for Fish: Pose Reconstruction and Flow Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This work introduces an electromyography (EMG)‐driven telemetry framework that reconstructs body pose and infers hydrodynamic conditions in freely swimming fish. A custom 16‐channel archival system records intramuscular EMG, enabling deep‐learning models to decode joint kinematics, classify flow regimes, and reveal channel‐efficient sensing strategies.

Cytological and molecular description of Hamiltosporidium tvaerminnensis gen. et sp. nov., a microsporidian parasite of Daphnia magna, and establishment of Hamiltosporidium magnivora comb. nov. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We describe the new microsporidium Hamiltosporidium tvaerminnensis gen. et sp. nov. with an emphasis on its ultrastructural characteristics and phylogenetic position as inferred from the sequence data of SSU rDNA, alpha-and beta-tubulin.
