Revised annotated list of British hypogeous fungi
Transactions of the British Mycological Society, 1974The list of British hypogeous fungi is brought up to 1973; new records since 1954 and changes in nomenclature are indicated. Notes on the revised lists of species of Endogone and Rhizopogon, on the identity of Elaphomyces granulatus and the position of Diehliomyces, on the relationship of Hydnotrya to Gyrocratera, and on the classification of hypogeous

Detection of hypogeous fungi by Tasmanian bettong (Bettongia gaimardi: Marsupialia; Macropodoidea)
Journal of Chemical Ecology, 1994The ability of Tasmanian bettongs (Bettongia gaimardi) to locate hypogeous fungi (their main diet) was tested in a controlled laboratory situation. Bettongs dug directly over buried fungi significantly more often than they did over buried glass marbles or over disturbed soil. This ability was not enhanced as they gained experience.

Nutritional Ecology of a Mycophagous Marsupial in Relation to Production of Hypogeous Fungi
Ecology, 1994Many forest—dwelling small mammals feed on the sporocarps of hypogeous fungi, but the nutritional value to small mammals of these sporocarps is thought to be low. The study investigated the value of hypogeous sporocarps to a mycophagous marsupial, the Tasmanian bettong, Bettongia gainmardi, by monitoring diet composition (via fecal analysis) and ...

NEW RECORDS AND DATA ON HYPOGEOUS ECTOMYCORRHIZAL FUNGI IN BULGARIA
2016In this article, new data on species diversity of hypogeous macrofungi in Bulgaria are reported. Three species: Tuber rufum, Gautieria graveolens and Lactarius stephensii were recorded for first time in the country. New localities of noteworthy fungi Tuber excavatum and Gautieria morchelliformis are also reported.
