Use of Sensors in the Treatment and Follow-up of Patients with Diabetes Mellitus

open access: yesSensors, 2010
Glucose control is the cornerstone of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) treatment. Although self-regulation using capillary glycemia (SRCG) still remains the best procedure in clinical practice, continuous glucose monitoring systems (CGM) offer the possibility of ...

Investigation of Risk Factors Related to Stroke in the Bangladeshi Population: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Bangladesh faces a rise in stroke, with a prevalence of stroke up to 11.4 per thousand. Almost 90% of the attributable risk of stroke is linked to the modifiable risk factors, and proper identification and control of these factors significantly decreases stroke incidence.

Influence of dietary intake and eating patterns on reactive hypoglycemic events in patients postesophagectomy: A prospective observational study using continuous glucose monitoring

open access: yesNutrition in Clinical Practice, Volume 41, Issue 3, Page 880-891, June 2026.
Abstract Background Esophagectomy causes anatomical changes that can lead to rapid food transit and reactive hypoglycemia (RH). Patients are advised on eating patterns postesophagectomy to prevent RH, but its true incidence and the impact of dietary recommendations remain under‐researched.

Effect of 2 weeks of theophylline on glucose counterregulation in patients with type 1 diabetes and unawareness of hypoglycemia.

open access: yes, 2003
Item does not contain fulltextBACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: A single dose of theophylline improves hypoglycemia unawareness in type 1 diabetic patients. Prolonged theophylline use is, however, associated with emergence of tolerance.

The Risk of Disease Progression of Type 1 Diabetes in First‐Degree Relatives of People With Type 1 Diabetes: Design and Rationale of a Prospective, Longitudinal Study in China

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 6, Page 4610-4618, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims In China, information on individuals who test positive for islet autoantibodies (IAb), including single IAb‐positive individuals and those with early‐stage Type 1 diabetes (T1D), and their risk of progression to Stage 3 T1D is limited. The goal of this study is to assess the risk of progression to T1D in first‐degree relatives (FDRs) of ...

Predictors of Exercise Performance in Type 1 Diabetes: The Role of Hypoglycaemia Fear, Glycaemic Control, and Vascular Health: A Retrospective Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 6, Page 5229-5239, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim Cardiorespiratory fitness is often impaired in individuals with type 1 diabetes. While physiological determinants have been studied, psychological barriers such as fear of hypoglycaemia remain underexplored. We hypothesised that glycaemic factors including HbA1c, diabetes duration, the presence of microvascular complications, and fear of ...
