Targeting ROCK2 to Restore Epileptic Synaptic Networks via Mitophagy Activation: Insights from Translational Imaging of SV2A In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By integrating synaptic vesicle glycoprotein 2A PET imaging and transcriptomics, this study identifies Rho‐associated protein kinase 2 (ROCK2) as a critical regulator of synaptic network dysfunction in temporal lobe epilepsy. Pharmacological ROCK2 inhibition restores synaptic density and enhances mitophagy, thereby reducing seizures and neuronal damage.

Molecular codes defining rostrocaudal domains in the embryonic mouse hypothalamus

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroanatomy, 2015
The prosomeric model proposes that the hypothalamus is a rostral forebrain entity, placed ventral to the telencephalon and rostral to the diencephalon.

Targeting Histamine H4 Receptor in the Rostral Ventromedial Medulla to Relieve Hypertension

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
H4R and its downstream TRPV1 channel mediate the excitatory effect of TMN histaminergic afferent inputs on GABAergic sympathoinhibitory neurons in RVMM. Intranasal delivery of selective H4R agonist VUF 8430 suppresses renal sympathetic outflow and elicits sustained depressor and bradycardia responses in SHRs and CUMS‐induced hypertensive rats ...

Functional identification of an aggression locus in the mouse hypothalamus

open access: yesNature, 2010
Electrical stimulation of certain hypothalamic regions in cats and rodents can elicit attack behaviour, but the exact location of relevant cells within these regions, their requirement for naturally occurring aggression and their relationship to mating ...

Hepatic KLF9 Deficiency Inhibits Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA)‐Induced Polycystic Ovary Syndrome via Liver‐Ovary Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study shows that liver is a previously unrecognized extraovarian organ that plays a key role about androgen homeostasis in the development of DHEA‐induced PCOS. DHEA is the most common precursor of active androgen, such as DHT, and KLF9 is required for the conversion of DHEA to DHT and hepatic KLF9 might be a potential therapeutic target for PCOS ...

Fibromyalgia: A Unifying Neuroendocrinologic Model for Understanding Its Pathophysiology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Fibromyalgia is believed to affect at least 2% of the population. Despite advances in the scientific understanding of the derangements of central and peripheral pain processing mechanisms in fibromyalgia, no current models of its pathophysiology account ...

Local and regional heterogeneity underlying hippocampal modulation of cognition and mood. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
While the hippocampus has been classically studied for its role in learning and memory, there is significant support for a role of the HPC in regulating emotional behavior.

Multiscale Cell–Cell Interactive Spatial Transcriptomics Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, we present the MultiScale Cell‐Cell Interactive Spatial Transcriptomics Analysis method, which unites the strengths of spatially resolved deep learning techniques with a topological representation of multi‐scale cell‐cell similarity relations.
