TOXICITY OF OXYGEN TO MITOCHONDRIAL RESPIRATORY ACTIVITY IN HYPOTHERMICALLY PERFUSED CANINE KIDNEYS
Transplantation, 1980Respiratory activity of kidney cortex homogenates was measured after various periods of hypothermic pulsatile preservation of dog kidneys with cryoprecipitated plasma. There was a progressive loss of pyruvate plus malate-stimulated respiration (30 to 40% at 3 days and 70 to 80% at 5 days) and succinate-stimulated respiration (15 to 20% at 3 days and 50

Hypothermic oxygenated machine perfusion influences the immunogenicity of donor livers in humans
Liver TransplantationHypothermic oxygenated machine perfusion (HOPE) is an organ preservation strategy shown to reduce ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI)-related complications following liver transplantation. In animal models, HOPE can also decrease alloimmune responses after transplantation, but this remains to be evaluated in humans.

Evaluation of oxygen necessity during hypothermic liver perfusion.
Nihon geka hokan. Archiv fur japanische Chirurgie, 1994Need of oxygen by the liver during hypothermic perfusion was evaluated using isolated perfusion model. Livers were perfused by a continuous perfusion system with oxygen saturated perfusate or nitrogen saturated perfusate, or simply stored for 12 hours at 5 degrees C.

Transplantation
Background. Donation after circulatory death (DCD) is a viable avenue for recovery of cardiac allografts for transplantation. Previous methods have utilized direct procurement and perfusion (DPP) using commercially available normothermic perfusion systems or in situ normothermic regional perfusion.

Perfusate Analysis During Dual Hypothermic Oxygenated Machine Perfusion of Liver Grafts
2020Background: Liver graft viability assessment has long been considered a limit of hypothermic oxygenated machine perfusion (HOPE). Aim of this study was assessing correlations of easily available perfusate parameters (PP) (aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, lactate dehydrogenase, glucose, lactate, and pH) with graft features and ...

A device to measure oxygen consumption during the hypothermic perfusion of the liver.
Cryo letters, 2010This work deals with the construction and performance of a device designed to measure the oxygen consumption by the liver during hypothermic perfusion in the rat model. Due to its simple design and the utilization of standard materials, it could serve to determine the role of oxygenation during hypothermic perfusion of the liver. The system consists of
