Changes in astrocyte morphology evoked by hypotonic stress and elevated extracellular K+.

open access: yes, 2013
Changes in astrocyte morphology, based on changes in glial fibrillary acidic protein immunoreactivity, were determined in the cortex (layers III–IV) of α-syn +/+ and α-syn −/− mice: 1) prior to (control), 2) after a 30 minute application of hypotonic ...

Biomimetic Macrophage Cell Membrane‐Based Nanoparticles for Effective Treatment of Glioblastoma Through Boron Neutron Capture Therapy Combined With Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) remains largely incurable due to the blood‐brain barrier (BBB) and immunosuppressive microenvironment. While boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) selectively eradicates tumor cells via 10B(n, α)‐7Li reactions, its clinical potential in GBM is unrealized because of the suboptimal pharmacokinetics of conventional ...

Enteral electrolyte solutions with different osmolarities administered in a continuous flow in newborn calves

open access: yesCiência Rural
: This study compared the effects of enteral electrolyte solutions with different osmolarities in Holstein cattle. Eighteen newborn calves were evenly divided into three groups and administered the following treatments: hypotonic electrolyte solution ...

CD177 Deficiency Defines a Stable Subtype of Human Neutrophil Granulocytes with Tumor Promoting Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Human neutrophils exist as two epigenetically imprinted subtypes defined by stable CD177 expression or absence — a ratio that persists across time, circadian rhythms, and inflammation. CD177− neutrophils display a distinct molecular landscape enriched in arginase 1 and lipid metabolism markers, accumulate in head‐and‐neck tumors, and associate with ...

Two enteral solutions with different chloride concentrations administered by naso-ruminal route for fluid therapy in adult cattle

open access: yesCiência Rural
: Six adult Holstein cows were used in this fluid therapy study. All animals were previously submitted to 24 hours of water and food abstaining period and submitted to both hydration treatments for eight hours in a crossover design 6x2.

A RNA-Seq Analysis of the Rat Supraoptic Nucleus Transcriptome: Effects of Salt Loading on Gene Expression.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Magnocellular neurons (MCNs) in the hypothalamo-neurohypophysial system (HNS) are highly specialized to release large amounts of arginine vasopressin (Avp) or oxytocin (Oxt) into the blood stream and play critical roles in the regulation of body fluid ...

The effect of hypotonic solutions or 10 mM K+ on ECS diffusion parameters in vitro.

open access: yes, 2013
The absolute values of the extracellular volume fraction (α) and tortuosity (λ) were measured in cortical slices from the somatosensory cortex of α-syn +/+ and α-syn −/− mice during a 30 min application of hypotonic solution H-50 (−50 mOsmol/l) (A, B ...

The KIF6‐RBP Complex Orchestrates mRNA Transport Required for Sperm Flagellar Assembly

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Two homozygous deleterious KIF6 variants are identified in unrelated men with impaired sperm motility. Mouse models and multi‐omics analyses reveal that KIF6 cooperates with the RNA‐binding proteins FMRP and FXR1 to deliver mRNAs essential for sperm flagellar assembly, linking disrupted mRNA transport to reduced abundance of key structural and ...

eEF1G Orchestrates Translation to Ensure Meiotic Progression in Transcriptionally Quiescent Spermatocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
eEF1G supports translation elongation of meiotic mRNAs in transcriptionally quiescent leptotene and zygotene spermatocytes. Its depletion in germ cells causes meiotic arrest at the zygotene stage, with defective homologous synapsis and unstable recombination intermediates.
