From the layout of a metallic structure`s beam-column connection w, while the seismic design is inside the dissipative method, precise contributors and zones ought to admit the growth of plastic deformation, and many metallic second resisting frames fail

Hysteretic damper based on the Ishlinsky-Prandtl model [PDF]
In this paper we consider the mathematical model of hysteretic damper based on the Ishlinsky-Prandtl model. The numerical results for the observable characteristics such as force transmission function and “force-displacement” transmission function are obtained and analyzed.

Composite Ti–6Al–4V–epoxy lattice structures are additively manufactured and epoxy infiltrated for cyclic loading. At low lattice volume fractions, hybridization produces synergistic gains in stiffness and energy dissipation. At higher volume fractions, synergy diminishes, although composites still exceed metallic lattices in specific energy ...

The concrete shear walls of masonry structures with RC frames on the first story are low-rise shear walls with a height–width ratio of less than 1. The strength, stiffness, and ductility of these low-rise shear walls are not matched, resulting in poor ...

A fully compensated synthetic antiferromagnet (SAF) multilayer exhibits a uniform state at zero field, without skyrmions. We use a SAF bias system to provide RKKY‐mediated exchange bias to the SAF multilayer, promoting zero‐field skyrmion stabilization and polarity control.

Shaking table tests of structures with hysteretic dampers: experimental results vs. prediction using non-linear static methods [PDF]
The use of seismic hysteretic dampers for passive control is increasing exponentially in recent years for both new and existing buildings. In order to utilize hysteretic dampers within a structural system, it is of paramount importance to have simplified
