The impact of Hnrnpl deficiency on transcriptional patterns of developing muscle cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We performed nanopore whole‐transcriptome sequencing comparing RNA from Hnrnpl‐knockdown versus control C2C12 myoblasts to investigate the contributions of Hnrnpl to muscle development. Our results indicate that Hnrnpl regulates the expression of genes involved with Notch signaling and skeletal muscle, particularly splicing patterns of specific muscle ...

Production of antibacterial compounds by a Steely hybrid polyketide synthase in Dictyostelium

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
By selecting appropriate production species under optimised culture conditions, new chlorinated dibenzofuran compounds, which previously could not be analysed in sufficient quantities, were identified from cellular slime mould fruiting bodies. The strong antibacterial activity exhibited by these compounds suggests a link to the ecological function of ...

Comparative Efficacy and Safety of Baska Mask and I-Gel in Short Surgical Procedures: A Meta-Analysis

open access: yesBali Journal of Anesthesiology
Background: The Baska Mask and I-gel are popular supraglottic airway devices (SGADs) because they are easy to use and maintain a functional airway without endotracheal insertion.

Overexpression of CDT1 inhibits cell cycle progression at S phase by interacting with the mini‐chromosome maintenance complex and causes DNA damage

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CDT1 is an essential protein for DNA replication licensing that loads the MCM complex, the eukaryotic replicative DNA helicase, onto replication origins. Overexpression of CDT1 induces cell cycle arrest at the S phase. Here we showed CDT1 inhibits the progression of replication forks by interacting with the MCM complex, leading to the stalling and ...

HSP70 governs permeability and mechanotransduction in primary human endothelial cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
HSP70 chemical inhibition reduces endothelial cell proliferation and increases permeability, the latter supported by normal interendothelial junctional protein distribution. HSP70 also plays a role in shear stress response, a hemodynamic force naturally present in blood vessels and correlated with vessel protection.

A Mathematical Model of Myosin Heavy Chain Dynamics in the Disintegration of Golden Threadfin Bream Nemipterus virgatus Surimi Gel

open access: yesGels
Surimi gel, a type of hydrocolloidal food, is formed through the gelation of fish meat proteins. Myosin heavy chain (MHC), a key myofibrillar protein, plays a crucial role in the formation of the gel network via both transglutaminase (TGase)-catalyzed ...
