Evaluation of the marking duration of iophenoxic acid (IPA) derivatives in raccoons (Procyon lotor)
We evaluated the marking duration and intensity of iophenoxic acid (IPA) analogues in raccoon (Procyon lotor) serum following consumption of test doses encapsulated in a marshmallow or formulated into an oral rabies vaccine bait matrix. The IPA biomarkers demonstrated utility for evaluation of oral rabies vaccination baiting strategies targeting ...

Revision Inferior Turbinate Reduction: Rates and Predictors
In a multi‐institutional retrospective cohort of patients who had inferior turbinate reduction, 4.3% needed revision surgery, at a median of 42 months (IQR 18–67). At revision, there was a shift toward less invasive techniques and office‐based procedures.

A Self‐Evolving Agentic Framework for Metasurface Inverse Design
Turning a target optical response into working inverse‐design code normally demands specialized computational‐electromagnetics and software‐engineering expertise. A self‐evolving agentic framework lowers this barrier: from a natural‐language request, it writes the optimization code that drives a physical solver and improves itself by revising human ...

Multiplex real-time PCR for detection of qac A/B and smr genes in Gram-positive bacteria
Background. Disinfectants are effective means of non-specific prevention of infections associated with the provision of medical care. Violation of disinfectant use regimes leads to the formation of microorganism resistance to them. To monitor the spread of clinically significant microorganisms resistant to disinfectants, the development of methods for ...

The Effect of LRRK2 and GBA1 Mutations on Survival in Early‐ and Late‐Onset Parkinson's Disease
Abstract Background Mutations in the glucocerebrosidase 1 (GBA1) and leucine‐rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2) genes are associated with Parkinson's disease (PD) phenotype. Objective To asses the contribution of genetic status to long‐term survival of patients with PD.

Tactical and Strategic Risks From Supply Disruptions in Competing Supply Chains
ABSTRACT Supply chain disruptions can lead to both tactical (i.e., loss of short‐term sales during a disruption) and strategic (i.e., loss of long‐term market share) consequences. We model the impact of a supply disruption on competing supply chains in which two firms compete for a limited backup supply.

ABSTRACT Background A higher ratio of IGF‐1:IGF binding protein 1 (IGFBP1) was associated with improved prognosis in the CHAARTED trial of docetaxel in participants with metastatic hormone‐sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC). The ENZAMET trial demonstrated the survival benefit of adding enzalutamide to androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) in mHSPC, and ...

Reducing write amplification of DM-SMR disks by shingle-aware persistent cache
Shingled Magnetic Recording (SMR) Technology is a cutting edge disk tech that boosts areal density via overlapping track writing. However, track overlapping makes SMR devices unable to support in place updates on shingled tracks, risking data corruption ...
